Herring Snack Festive Candle

Ingredients

salted herring optional
boiled chicken egg yolk 6 items
green cons. peas 1 can
mayonnaise 1 tsp
salt optional
canned corn for decoration 8 grains

Cooking method

  • The recipe for the dish was born spontaneously in my head, thanks to our forum member Larisa-dopleta.
  • Cook 6 eggs, clean and separate the yolks we need.
    Knead the yolks with an ordinary fork, add a little mayonnaise to make the mass viscous.
    We open a jar of peas, drain the broth, knead the peas in mashed potatoes, whatever is convenient. Puree can be salted to taste. I didn't salt, relying on the salinity of the herring itself and mayonnaise in the yolk, and in vain. The neutral taste of peas asks for some kind of improvement, enhancement of the taste.
    Next, we start creating beauty.
  • Cut 8 identical squares from cling film, about 10 * 10 cm. Put mashed peas on a square from the film, forming a small cake.
    Put the yolk on this green cake, also forming a slightly thinner and larger cake. Place a piece of herring in the middle (size optional).
    We take the blank in the palm of our hand and roll it up, forming a ball, while we twist the edges of the film like a candy wrapper. By and large, our goodies are ready. It remains to free it from the film, put it on a plate and decorate. I used corn kernels, they matched the color scheme, depicting the candle wick.

The good thing about the dish is that it is not very salty, very small in size (for one bite), which is very convenient for eating. Well, on the table it looks original and mysterious. My guests, without trying, could not guess either the taste or the ingredients.
