Karkade kvass drink

Ingredients

For brewing
hibiscus flowers 4 tbsp. l.
water (boiling water) 0.5 l.
For a drink
welding 0.5 l.
sugar 1 tbsp.
lemon 0.5-1 pcs.
boiled water 2.5 l.
raisins 10-15 pcs.
fresh yeast 8-10 gr.

Cooking method

  • Boil 3 l. water. We take 0.5 liters and brew the hibiscus flowers, cool the rest of the water. Then we pour sugar into the water, squeeze the lemon juice (I take the juice from half a large or from one small lemon), then add yeast and raisins, mix everything and cover with a lid, leave for 8-12 hours on the fermentation table, then filter and send in the refrigerator for another 6-8 hours. Everything - you can already try, but it is better to withstand another day or two to get a richer taste.

As promised, I made it with rye sourdough. Instead of lemon juice (I did not hurry up in advance about buying it))) I added crushed slices of tangerine. The taste is just awesome.
