Oh, what an interesting soup ... I'm embarrassed to ask, but eggs cannot be boiled separately? It seems to me that it will be easier to clean them later than after boiling in broth. Or is it correct to cook this way?
Thanks for the recipe!

I think cholnt is more of a roast than a soup. 😉

And eggs - they acquire a unique texture and taste for many hours of simmering. I am afraid that such an egg cannot be boiled. 😊

AZal, thanks for the interesting recipe!
I love when a mustache "folded and forgotten" for twenty hours!
Tell me pzhl. , and if you cook at Mv Panasonic, then how?
Probably first "roasting", then "stewing" hours for how much ??
And when to lay the eggs before turning on the "stew" mode?
Thank you .

TrishkaI'm afraid Panasonic's Quench mode, in its purest form, is too hot for cholent to languish. Extinguishing in Panasonic is about 100 *, i.e. T boiling water. And one of the defining features of cholent is a very long infusion of a semi-prepared dish in a heated, but not boiling form (for me it is around 88 *).

From wikipedia:
The idea behind the cholent is to prepare a hot dish while observing the religious prohibition against lighting fire on the Sabbath.

Cholent is cooked in a pot. It is put in the oven on Friday on the eve of Saturday and languishes until the next day, when the family returned from the synagogue after prayer. In modern times, when there are almost no traditional Russian and Lithuanian ovens left, they use other methods and try to achieve the right taste.

So in Panasonic you can easily implement the first 2 stages of cholent preparation: frying and stewing (2-2.5 hours). But the languishing stage ... In principle, you can try periodically for 8-15 hours to switch the MV from the Quenching mode to Heating and back. But I would not subscribe to such cooking. 😀

AZal, oh sorry, but I'll try anyway.
Then .
Maybe I'll put less extinguishing.
