Ingredients

Dough:
potatoes (raw) 1 kg
potatoes (boiled) 400 g
egg 2 pcs.
potato starch 100 g
salt taste
Filling:
bulb 1 PC.
bread 2 pieces
leek 1 stem
butter 30 g
ground beef 300 g
salt taste
pepper taste
grated nutmeg taste
Sauce:
onion (small) 1 PC.
bacon 200 g
butter 30 g
flour 2 tbsp. l.
water 200 ml
cream taste
salt taste
pepper taste

Cooking method

  • This recipe was shared with mine by a German friend. Thanks to her) It turned out delicious, and most importantly, very German!
  • 1. Preparing the dough for our dumplings:
  • Grate raw potatoes on a fine grater or in a food processor.
  • We squeeze the water well. You can use a kitchen towel.
  • We mash the boiled potatoes well and add eggs, starch, raw potatoes, salt and mix everything.
  • 2. Prepare the filling:
  • Cut the onion and bread into cubes.
  • Cut the leeks (we only need the white part) into rings.
  • Melt the butter in a frying pan and fry the minced meat with onions.
  • Add salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  • Add bread and leeks to the minced meat.
  • We mix everything.
  • 3. Form the dumplings themselves:
  • With wet hands, take part of the dough and crush it between the palms.
  • Put the filling in the middle.

  • Cover the top with the second part of the crushed dough.
  • We fasten at the seam and form a ball with a filling inside.
  • Or we form a ball filled with one part of the dough. It is more convenient for you.
  • If the dough turns out to be thin, then we form dumplings on a floured surface.

  • 4. Cook the dumplings in boiling salted water for 30 minutes.
  • 5. Cooking the sauce:
  • Dice the onion and bacon and fry in hot oil.

  • Add flour and fry a little over low heat.
  • Then we add water. Mix everything well.
  • Add cream, salt and pepper.
  • Serve the sauce with dumplings.
