Please help me with the choice of a bread machine! The choice came between Panasonic SD-2501WTS, Polaris PBM 1501D, Brand 3801
I buy for my parents. Bread is eaten mainly rye / darnytsky and sweet rolls.
On the one hand, they want a reliable, time-tested (Panasonic), on the other, they want to bake sourdough bread. For these purposes, as I understood, Panasonic is not suitable. From the programmed I looked after Brand 3801 and Polaris 1501D. But not one, not another does not inspire much confidence in terms of reliability and durability of operation.
Please advise what to choose reliability or functionality?
Loya
I read about Polaris and immediately wanted the same! I liked the functionality, the power is good, and the ability to bake 2 loaves at once is completely out of competition. As for the reliability, then only after 2 years you can talk about it (after the release of the model). In the reviews, I did not see any negative. For example, my Bork was "blown away" after making jam in it, but in Polaris they cook and do not complain. But do parents need such CP? Maybe something classic, without problems, would be better? Sourdough bread was always baked on the set programs, but with a delayed start. So I don’t see the problem only in this. About Brand, something not very good reviews ...

And what does "classic, no problems" mean? Which models are worth considering?

Ma_LiNkaPanasonic SD-2501WTS, especially since sourdough bread contains the same yeast
Ma_LiNka
sazalexter, it is clear what it contains) but the taste is more like starter culture (though store-bought)
Loya
Ma_LiNka, are you only considering model data? If parents are aged and not big fans of modern "fancy" gadgets, then the functions that Panasonic has will be enough for them. And what kind of store-bought sourdough bread? Ready mixes or ready-made bread? I have never met ...
Ma_LiNka
Loya, I think, still young) Will figure it out! There would be a desire. Just the same I'm afraid that if they bake with sourdough, then "jumping" around Panasonic will be much more troublesome than programming a separate mode on Polaris / Brand.
We sell ready-made bread - "Tibetan", sooo tasty.

Then definitely Polaris! In Panas, both power loses and functionality. And about the quality ... I have MV Polaris. As I bought it, I was so revered by an inveterate fan of Polaris. Bork after 2 years of (merciless) exploitation began to play pranks. In which case - I take HP Polaris for 2 loaves. It is very convenient - one for yourself, another for loved ones as a gift. I have my own story about my parents. HP Bork was presented to the mother-in-law at the DR. After the donation, it turned out that the person is categorically not friends and is not going to be friends with modern technology. There are a lot of song options: "The letters are small, I don't see", "My hands are faster," "There is a lot of bread that is harmful," "She squeaks in a strange way," etc., etc. So I took "to drive" after a year of inactivity of an expensive machine. Now I bake them and everyone as a gift:

Ma_LiNkaGrowing sourdough is a whole story, it takes a lot of free time, conditions, patience, is it necessary

I was surprised to learn that sourdough bread can be bought from shops. Taking into account the confusing production process, how much should they cost ???
sazalexter
LoyaAll bakeries operating in accordance with GOST use starter culture to save yeast, less sugar, oil, more salt and there will be at least some kind of profit. And bread with the inscription "yeast-free" is generally a trick of modern marketers, there is a demand against the background of scientific conversations about the harm of yeast, there will be an offer, of course, several times more expensive than Darnitsky or Stolichny, but with a beautiful inscription "yeast-free"
Ma_LiNka
sazalexterYes, I realized already that baking bread, even with yeast, is not quite a simple matter.
Loya, The composition contains a sourdough - rye flour, malt, lactobacterin. Small loaf (300 gr) - within 25 rubles. I don’t really like bread, but I always eat it with pleasure) And my own bread, they say, is even tastier. Therefore, I think it's worth tinkering all the same.
Loya
sazalexter, I only heard that in expensive Mascov stores they sell similar bread for 160 rubles per loaf. It was only said that it was "yeast-free". One might suspect that this is sourdough bread.
Ma_LiNka, there was a time and I baked sourdough bread. Its peculiarity is that it must be constantly "renewed"; accordingly, the bread must be baked at regular intervals. So, once leaving, upon arrival, I discovered that the leaven had safely gone bad and decided not to bother anymore. My bread turned out differently than with yeast, I won't say which is much tastier or I felt the benefits of it. Simple: different.

it's still worth tinkering
Of course it is. At least in order to understand whether you need it. Did you know that Vitek has a bread maker + multicooker model?
sazalexter
Ma_LiNka, Panasonic as an HP machine will allow you to bake without problems, threw it and forgot. HP is just more reliable.
Ma_LiNka
Loya, yes, I saw it, but it is not credible yet. All the same, I believe that each technique should fulfill its functions. And do them well. And Vitek has not so long been engaged in the production of both bread makers and multicooker, I don’t think that they immediately came out with a quality item ...
I read Temka about binatons-2170/2175, people have a lot of complaints about both the work and the quality of the unit. They have been produced for about a year since 2010.
Vitek got into the hi-tech bread machine test., You can read. 🔗
And by the way, Polaris also has a multicooker-bread maker Polaris PBMM 1601D
Ma_LiNka
In general, I ordered Polaris for a promotion there was a 10% discount. If I can come before Monday, I'll take her. If not, I'll go buy a Panasonic)
Loya, sazalexter, thanks for your attention to Temko !!!
