Apple chutney

Ingredients

Peeled apples 1.3KG
Peeled oranges 2 pcs
Raisins (not used) 130g
Fruit vinegar 150ml
Sugar 150g
Orange juice 120ml
Water 100ml
Cognac 2 tbsp. l
Ground or dry ginger 1/2 tsp
Turmeric 1/2 tsp
Makis - ground nutmeg flowers (not used) 1/2 tsp

Cooking method

  • 1. Cut apples and peeled oranges into pieces.
  • 2. Sprinkle the fruit with vinegar, stir in the raisins and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • 3. Add sugar, orange juice, water and cook, stirring constantly for 40 minutes over medium heat.
  • 4. Pour in cognac, add flowers of makis, ginger, turmeric and mix everything well.

  • Ready-made chutney is very good with feta cheese! Can be used in a variety of desserts.
  • Store chutneys in sealed jars in a cool place.

For my taste - add more ginger and turmeric. Next time I will.
I did not use raisins, due to its absence in the bins ...
