Ketchup with apples

Ingredients

tomato 2 Kg
apples 500 g
salt 1 tbsp. l.
sugar 0.3 cups
ground red pepper 1 tsp
ground black pepper 1 tsp
ground cinnamon 0.5 tsp
nutmeg on the tip of a knife

Cooking method

  • 1. Remove the core from the apples. Pass tomatoes and apples through a meat grinder.
  • 2. Transfer the puree to a saucepan, add salt and sugar and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour with the lid closed. 1 hour open to thicken the ketchup. Add spices 10 minutes before the end. Adjust salt and sugar to taste. Mix.
  • 3. Remove from heat and rub through a sieve. Pour into sterilized jars, close the lids and allow to cool. Store in a cool place.
