Cookies Christmas rings with lard.

Ingredients

flour 350 g
baking powder 1/2 sachet
sugar 140 g
vanilla, cardamom taste
zest and juice of 1 lemon
lard 150 g
eggs 2 pcs
egg for lubrication 1 PC
cinnamon with sugar for sprinkling

Cooking method

  • Mix flour with baking powder, add sugar, vanilla, cardamom (this is my gag), lemon juice and zest (I add candied orange peel and lemon juice), eggs and melted lard. Knead the dough, you can put it in the cold for half an hour. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, roll out the dough into a 1 cm layer, cut into cookies with any shape (round is the most convenient), grease with an egg and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake until browned, but do not fry, otherwise the tenderness will be lost.

The recipe was printed in 1991 in a thin 18-page booklet. It has been used in my family for many years with minor changes, but in recent years it has been undeservedly forgotten. The cookies are very light and tender, with a pleasant sourness and without a reminder of lard. Eat to your health!
