Whole Oat Porridge with Onions (Panasonic SR-TMH 18)

Ingredients

Whole oat grain 1 measuring cup
Water 3 measuring cups
Bulb onions 1 head
Garlic 1-2 teeth
Salt, ground pepper, parsley taste

Cooking method

We put the cereal in a saucepan, fill it with water, salt to taste, put it on the Stew mode for 1.5 hours in a multicooker.
After the porridge is ready, we make the dressing. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, fry onions, garlic, spices, salt for a short time.
Now we add the finished oatmeal, fresh parsley, mix everything in a pan - so that all the products and goodies become friends with each other.
We close the lid and let it brew and steam for a few 20-30 minutes.

The porridge is ready.

Note

The main porridge maker (and their eater) of the forum presents the following version of porridge.
The result is a very tasty, hearty porridge.
Bon Appetit!

I put the porridge according to your recipe and the question arose Tatyana, will the water be absorbed by the end of cooking or will you have to drain the cereal through a sieve?

No, you do not need to drain anything, the porridge is dry. And then I heat it with onions in a pan. Delicious!

And I have a lot of water left. But to bother, to drain there was no time to drain the fried onion with garlic, I added it to the multicooker and left it on the heat. After only an hour and a half, the water was absorbed, but not until dry. In general, it turned out very tasty thanks.
I think a one to two ratio would be fine. I wonder why there is such a difference? Tatyana, what kind of cereal do you have?
I have uncrushed oatmeal of the highest grade "Yarmarka".

LyuLyoka, but I don't even remember what kind of cereal I had, I bought it as whole grain. I cooked in a Panasonic multicooker, the amount of cereal / water is the same as written above in the recipe.

Well, okay, the main thing is that it turned out deliciously and you liked it!

Today I was cooking porridge again, the proportions did not change. We liked it very much - risotto right in its pure form Today, only a few mushrooms added and a pinch of thyme. Well, it was time to leave it on the heater longer.
Tatyana, thank you again!

And I quickly fry the thinly chopped onion, then the thinnest slices of celery stalk and thinly chopped cabbage to the onion.
When everything is slightly browned, I add soy sauce.
And then I mix it with boiled cereals (usually with rice, or buckwheat)
