Even in spite of the fact that you have a lot of serious and useful kitchen equipment, you still do some culinary processes with your hands. When it is for a festive table, where both the result and appearance are important, then this is normal. But when you just cook borscht, or something else quick and everyday, then getting and / or turning on serious electronic assistants is too lazy, and somehow quickly manually rub a couple of carrots, beets, cut a couple of onions.
For such small tasks - rubbing, cutting, chopping - different manufacturers have come up with very, very small food processors that can always stand on the table at hand and replace the knife and hand grater.

I have long thought about such a little helper. This is how I cook borscht or make pilaf, so I think right away. Even a couple of times I seriously thought about buying an advanced blender package Bamixbut was stopped by the high price and the availability of an excellent submersible blender Element .
I once had a good harvester Bosch MCM64085 with a variety of attachments, including dicing. It was excellent, and even stood on the table, but the attachments from it were removed in the closet. And I never got used to getting them out, collecting them to rub one carrot and beetroot, and even then washing them.
Then I got a kitchen machine Kenwood Cooking Chef, which over time has become overgrown with many attachments. I love her! Short-term processes, where it is necessary, for example, to knead the minced meat, or mix something else, i.e. to do something in the bowl, I do it with pleasure and ease. But small processes, where you have to rub, cut, crumble, I, as with Bosch, also do not get the food processor.
And here several points coincided. Firstly, a couple of months ago, my brother asked him to choose a food processor, but not very sophisticated, because he doesn't cook much. Secondly, a dialogue about little helpers arose on the forum and took shape in a separate topic.
There, out of everything discussed, I liked one option. Brother liked it too small size. And so I bought him a small harvester, but because he is in another city, then I had the opportunity to use it for a couple of weeks to decide whether I needed the same one.
And so I had the opportunity to test the Kenwood Multipro Micro FDM 100 BA mini-harvester in action. Let's start, as always, with unpacking.

Unpacking and assembly
Kenwood's boxes are always bright and informative. On the main side - appearance and basic information.
Above is the same information and a warranty card in a bag is also glued. Probably, in order to stamp the ticket without opening the box in the store, but when there is a receipt, filling in the ticket is not necessary.
The main advantages of the model are written on the back in different languages, including Russian.
Food processor attachment:

Opening the box, we see books with instructions - thick in many languages, and thin in Russian and Kazakh.
A small spatula appeared under the instructions.
I have something to compare with - the spatula from the kitchen machine is twice as large, heat-resistant. And here it is small and softer, such a soft-touch plastic. I will not check the heat resistance, it will suddenly melt, it will be a pity, tk. spatula is pretty.
Pulling up the cardboard, I saw a chopper bowl, and another cardboard.
The bowl is really small. Looking ahead, I will say that it is possible to install and remove on the motor with one hand.
I lift the second cardboard - there is a grater / shredder attachment and a motor.
The grater / shredder attachment was disassembled. Separate cover with feed and discharge holes.
And an adapter inserted into the bowl + disc.
Well, the motor part. The fork is packed in bubbled cellophane.
Below the motor part of the suction cup. They did not stick to the wooden table, but they stuck to the table top so that I was afraid to tear it off from the table top in this way - I "drove" to the edge of the table top and they came off. But, looking ahead I will say. For testing and convenient photography, I did everything on a wooden table, and although the suction cups did not stick to it, the combine did not move at all.
Well, here are all the elements that I took out of the box.
To understand the miniature size of the combine, I put a standard water filter next to it. Filter more!
Once again, I consider everything, but already the details.
Bowl and lid, red arrow - this is the hole for the oil, if you make mayonnaise. Those. put the required ingredients, start whipping them, and gradually add oil without opening the lid.
Double blade with protective covers to avoid clipping. The instructions say that the covers are for transportation only, and should not be stored. But I keep from almost all the knives, or rather put them on knives, if the knives are not stored inside the bowls.
The manufacturer recommends using one knife if you need a coarse grinding of something, and two knives if you need a very fine grinding. Looking ahead, I'll say - and one knife can turn out fine, depending on the product and processing time. For example, the onion definitely works.

Only the double-sided disc can be removed and turned over.
The whole thing is put in the bowl, you just need to turn it slightly if the notches in the adapter and the protrusions in the bowl did not immediately match. The instructions say - turn and lower it down. And since I immediately matched and I did not turn anything, then at first it hung - what else needs to be turned.

Further, when I take a picture already in work, the thickness will be visible.
And a medium grater. But I would say, it is still a little thinner than the standard manual so-called. "beetle" grater, i.e. such a Soviet standard for hand graters, to which everyone is accustomed. But not much difference.
The bowl is not perfectly round, it has a small protrusion.
So, when assembling the grater / shredder nozzle or when to put on the shredder cover, you need to be guided by this ledge. The lids also have this ledge.
It is necessary to put the lid protrusion slightly "above" (clockwise) the protrusion on the bowl, then all the grooves will coincide at once.
The first time, when I removed the lid from the bowl, I was afraid to break it - I sat sooo tightly, and it was not clear what and where, in which direction, although theoretically always open counterclockwise. I even read the instructions carefully out of fear. But from the second time all the covers were opened / closed very easily. With just two fingers!
Grasp the "ears" with your fingers.
And with a light movement connect the "ears" until they click.
And to open - on the contrary - disconnect, focusing on the "ears".
Well, everything, since I assembled the track / shredder attachment, then we will start working with it.
In work
I'll start with a cucumber. It's so light because I cut off the skin. I do not cut only from ground or from home, from a summer residence.
I forgot to take a picture right away, I photographed it later.
It’s clear - plug it in. But it turned on so that you need to pull this lever, as it were, to the center of the bowl.
For some reason, I decided that it should be held that way all the time, but in the course of work, I found that if you pull it hard, the lever will click into place, and then you can not hold it. And because you need to read the instructions. However, if something is small and fast, I did not click, but held it. Those. two options - snap and hold, or hold. Both options are convenient.
Very, very fast, 3-4 seconds. And the cucumber was chopped.
I should have cut a cucumber into quarters, it would have been better for a salad, but I later realized that
This is the thickness. Very average. Those. not thin, but not thick either.
I tried the tomato. Also a couple of seconds.
The tomato looks thinner.
There was juice from the tomato. He hit the bowl.
Let's move on to the grater! And to the main idea of a small combine - I'm going to make borscht! Remember to turn the disc over.
I'll start with carrots. It is already sluggish, left especially for the soup. Well, the more interesting the test. She put it sideways to see the possible length.
This is how the carrots were rubbed. After the tomato, I washed the lid, it is wet and I think, therefore, grated carrots got stuck in the outlet. But with a spatula, I easily took it out.
Here is the result. The soup is very even, but for the Korean carrots it seemed to me thin, although acceptable, but here is already a personal taste.
These are the leftovers.
Let me remind you that the carrots are sluggish, bent in their hands. It would also be difficult to rub on a hand grater.
And now the beets. By the way, also sluggish. I'm all juicy spiralizer exhausted.
It must be said about the loading hole. It was on the beets that I thought about it, because I had to cut it. The hole is not very wide, about 3.9x6.8cm, you need to cut vegetables. In a large food processor (a nozzle for a kitchen machine) a 4.5x7 hole, theoretically it seemed that the difference was not big, but practically noticeable.
I was horrified to discover that I did not have a photograph with the result. Although I definitely took pictures. But then I will say in words - the result is the same size as a carrot. The speed is also very fast, 3-4 seconds. And in general, an excellent result.
I have a photo of the remains that turned out to be under the disk. A little rubbed is visible.
And there is a photo of the remainder. But again, the beets are sluggish.
Remnants also remain in the lid. The cucumber and tomato didn’t have anything left, and looking ahead, the cabbage didn’t. The remains are worn, just not pushed out. The spatulka came in handy here - it is thin, and perfectly crawled into narrow places and cleaned.
I flip the disc and move on to the cabbage. I washed the lid so that the cabbage did not stain with beets. It doesn't matter for borscht, but I'm taking pictures
The cabbage shook so cheerfully that it flew a little. This was not the case before. It is necessary to take a higher bowl, and not just a plate.
And although I did not cut the cabbage correctly from the beginning, which I noticed when I was folding it into the loading hole - it fell from my hands in layers down the tube, it still feels like it's a bit big. It's a shame that I don't need cabbage anymore, but I'll check it later. While such a conclusion is to follow along or across you cut the cabbage, otherwise it will be large.
The rest is standard - a lonely leaf.
Let's go to the chopper!
I removed the grater / shredder attachment, installed the knife.
We need to chop the onion. Medium onion, cut into quarters.
I closed it with a lid. She snapped it in the same way as the grater lid - a protrusion on the lid just above the protrusion on the bowl, and then snapped it with two fingers. I also forgot to take a photo right away and took another photo.
In the photo - how easy it is to close and the button is visible with the word Press, i.e. click. If you press lightly - the first speed, if you press hard - the second, fast speed.
Three second presses (or less than a second, even) - and the onion was chopped. I think two clicks could have been Very fast!
Everything is with borscht. Greens and stuff with your hands.
And my brother asked me to check if the shredder would chop the buckwheat into the chop he loves. My brother is very jealous that I have a mill, and therefore there is always a cut, while in stores not only nonsense is sold, but also more expensive than buckwheat.

It took longer than three clicks. About a minute. What made me nervous because the instructions say not to overwork more than a minute. Therefore, I tried impulsively, i.e. intermittently.
Opening the lid, I saw that some part of the flour, some of the cut.
The result is a slice and a handful of flour.
This is a non-standard task, but, I think, by adapting, you can get the desired result. We have to play with the amount and time.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS
I loved this mini harvester. It is beautiful and takes up little space.
But I hate the price just as much! On the Internet, you can google different prices - from 5.5 to 13 thousand. For 5.5 thousand, it is somehow possible with a scratch, but for 13 thousand it is madness.
The small food processor is designed for small tasks - grate vegetables / fruits or cheese, chop vegetables / fruits, chop anything in small quantities. And he copes with these tasks. I would not try to chop a 5 liter pot of cabbage, for this there are completely different devices - with a choice of shredder thickness, with a large throat at the tube, etc.
The harvester is very small, smaller than a water filter, it can be left on the table top and always used, even for small tasks, such as chopping one onion or rubbing one carrot. It is easy to assemble, easy to disassemble, and wash quickly.
But this, in my opinion, is not worth 13 thousand, or 10 thousand, or 8 thousand.
Therefore, my recommendation sounds like this - buy only if you see some kind of promotion or a big discount, well, or if you are a millionaire, then buy too.
Now a tip on features.
Combine harvester
The combine does not have a variety of graters and shredders.
In the case when it was bought for a brother, this is a plus. He immediately said - I don't need a huge device, it will bother me. You don't need a bunch of disks, otherwise I will freeze at the moment of choosing what to rub or cut, and even store them somewhere.
But for an experienced chef who loves to cook - this is a minus. It will only be a plus if he understands that this is a mini harvester for small culinary processes.
Chopper
The chopper (chopper) is very good. The double knife is amazing.
He chops almost everything very quickly - nuts, chocolate, ice. The fineness depends on the time of use. He mashed various mixtures perfectly. Makes mayonnaise, and it is convenient that there is a hole for the oil supply.
In short, this is a really great shredder.
But here's what I want to note. Two more Kenwood devices have exactly the same double knife, and the same bowl volume.
- Kenwood CH 250 - younger brother. This is the same motor part, the same bowl, knife ... In short, everything is exactly the same, only without the grater / shredder attachment. True, the price is not much less.
- Kenwood CH 580 - looks very different. Because the motor is in the cover. But the knife is exactly the same double, because it's a Kenwood thing. And now it is already possible to buy it for less than 3 thousand rubles. And it is even more miniature.
TOTAL
I have 7-10 days before I give it to my brother. I fell in love with the harvester for its beauty and simplicity, diminutiveness and speed of work. If not for the price, I would have bought the second one for myself a week ago without hesitation. But because of the price I think.
Of course, you can buy another kitchen attachment for this money. machine, I just do not have a vegetable cutter that cuts directly into a plate or bowl. But I still haven't bought it, because every day I definitely won't get it for one carrot. It's for the harvesting season. And I originally wanted and want - small harvester, like this one.
