Review REDMOND RMB-M713 / 1 PROSince I have been using the Redmond RMB-M713 / 1 Pro multi-baker for a long time - since October 2017, I decided to collect my impressions in one small review. This is a multifunctional device that can replace a waffle iron, toaster, and in many cases, an oven.

Packaging

Redmond knows how to arouse interest in his products with the help of beautiful packaging, this cannot be taken away from him.

The box is made in stylish black, photos are bright and colorful, text inserts are very informative.

I got a multibaker with only one panel - for thick waffles (corrugation). The panel sits like a glove, unlike others purchased additionally. But more on that below.

In addition to the multibaker, the box contains a service book, an instruction manual and a recipe book.
The instruction is presented in three languages - Russian, Ukrainian and Kazakh. The recipe book is a thin A6 brochure with bright glossy photos.

You can also download a smartphone app that simply duplicates the recipes from the brochure. As far as I can tell, no new recipes appear there and you can't add your own.

Dimensions

The length of the baker is 36 cm, the width is 29 cm.

Unfolded 180 °, it is about 72 cm long.

In principle, when folded, it does not take up much space on the kitchen countertop. And the ability to cook 4 waffles at once or 16 cookies / donuts for one bookmark will compensate for this small inconvenience. Sunday waffles or sweet sandy "nuts", which you still had to morally tune with before. their preparation took all morning, now they are baked at lightning speed.

The size of the panels is 28 cm x 22 cm.

The heating element is covered with a metal panel, which, by the way, is very difficult to clean. The metal on it is ribbed, rough, instantly absorbing everything that falls on it. I even began to put foil in so as not to scrub off the burnt oil or meat juice that leaked out from under the grill panel every time.

Plastic handles do not heat up during operation, but the metal case heats up
perceptible - I even use it to warm up plates.

Using

Well, let's move on from the description to, in fact, use.
Despite the fact that I cooked steaks, cutlets and all kinds of shawarma in it, in 90% of cases the multibaker is used for baking, for which it is intended.

One of the very first recipes that I tried after purchasing a multibaker was Liège waffles according to this recipe:

Personal messagesLiega <br /> waffles
Liège waffles

(Rina)

Having prepared the dough exactly according to the recipe, I plugged the baker into the socket. It does not have a temperature regulator, so you just need to wait for the red indicator to light up. The dough must be laid out so that it is guaranteed to reach the top panel, then the waffles will bake well and quickly. To lubricate with oil or not, decide for yourself. My waffles are easily removable in both cases. Baked for 9 minutes. Here's the result:

I consider the panel for thick waffles to be one of the most successful. It fits snugly and fits perfectly. You can safely lay out even the most viscous dough, nothing crawls, it is convenient to work with the panel.
I baked yeast waffles, and shortbread with cottage cheese, zucchini pancakes in the form of waffles - everything worked out the first time.

Additional panels

(Purchased separately)

But with other panels, difficulties are already beginning.

For example, a panel for Thin waffles not just does not keep in the grooves, she walks with a shaker! Since the wafer roll dough is usually runny, spread it out with a spoon. And the panel crawls behind the spoon, practically jumping out of the baker. At least put a silicone mat under it. That is, the thickness of all panels is different, although the manufacturer is the same. I also want to note that "thin waffles" are actually quite thick. At least thicker than waffle makers specializing exclusively in thin waffles, such as the Cloer 281, for example.

Thin waffles are baked very quickly, usually 2 minutes, no more. The bread is longer, about 10 minutes.
The photo below shows an example of crispy rye bread baked in this panel.

Grill
Private messages

Like a grill REDMOND RMB-M713 / 1 PRO can be used, but with some reservations. Unfortunately, he does not have a tray for meat juice and fat. The liquid is worth it, it has nowhere to drain. Therefore, it either accumulates around the meat and it is stewed in it, like in broth, or it pours into all the cracks. To avoid this, I put foil under the panels, as I wrote about earlier. I also blot the meat with a napkin after any marinades, and sometimes the panels themselves during the cooking process. The piece of meat must reach the top grill well, otherwise it will grill from below and steam from above. A thick piece will cook through faster (this is such a paradox) and will be beautiful, with stripes on top and bottom.

A separate conversation is the coverage of CERALON ILAG panels. Redmond markets it as a super-sticky ceramic coating. Say, just wash it with a soft sponge and everything will be fine. This is how it works with baking panels, because it contains a lot of oil and a minimum of liquid. But this issue will not work with the grill panel - in order to wash the burnt meat juice, you will have to wash it with a sponge, rub it with a brush, and send it to the dishwasher. At the same time, also pre-soak the panels. Ceramics are generally not good for grilling.
It is best to use this panel for browning sandwiches and making all kinds of pita bread. A multi-baker cannot replace a full-fledged grill, although it has good power and a high cooking speed.

Here's about the panel Kurabye I can't say a single bad word, only compliments! The coating is excellent, the panel itself sits like a poured one, the biscuits are perfectly shaped with a minimum of effort. You do not need to roll out anything, cut it out with tins, just pinch off the pieces of dough and put them in the recesses - in a few minutes you will get the finished cookies.

The manufacturer lures buyers with advertising promises that more than 25 types of panels for the 7th multibaker have already been released, and new ones will appear soon. This is, to put it mildly, not true. All these "25 panels" exist only in the form of computer renders, not even photographs. In the Redmond online store they are always "out of stock", in offline stores no one has ever seen them. In addition to the four I listed, we also sell Hong Kong waffles, Mini waffles, Omelette, Patterned cookies and Triangles.
Even the nuts, Burgers or Sandwich that come with the REDMOND RMB-M737 / 6 PRO cannot be bought separately. What is the idea behind such restrictions is not clear. For the 6 series multibaker, various panels came out immediately, in the very first year. I would like to believe that the manufacturer will wake up and stop ignoring some of its customers.

My conclusion is that the device is not bad, there are no complaints about the build quality or heating rate. It bakes well both sweet and meat steaks. All questions concern, only, the quality of the coating of the panels and their small assortment. I hope the last point will become irrelevant over time.
