The market for kitchen electrical gadgets is diverse. Sometimes it seems to me that there is no such kitchen process for which there would not be an electrical analogue. A separate niche in the market is occupied by various, as I call them, bakery products. Those. appliances that bake waffles, cookies, cakes, baskets, etc. From any kind of dough, any shape.
All the time I wanted to test such an electric assistant in order to understand whether it is worth spending money. In addition, it is not clear which one to choose. Still, it’s not that expensive to buy ten devices, but they also need to be stored somewhere. But here I got two different waffle irons, and today I will talk about one of them, and in the next review about the other, and compare them.
The first waffle iron - Clatronic WA 3606.
Specifications:
- Power 800 W
- Management - mechanical
- Two non-removable non-stick Belgian waffle panels
- Temperature control
- Overheat protection
- Compartment for storing the cord
- Work indicator
Consider a box.
A box with bright pictures on the large sides.
And with information in different languages on the narrow sides.
Let's open the box.
The waffle iron is packed in a bag and is tightly wrapped in foam protective pieces. Plus instructions.
Let's get it out of the box.
Let's remove the protective pieces. Quite a compact thing.
The wire is not big - 70cm.
All equipment manufacturers make a short wire specially. This is such a security measure. If the wire were long, then a person could put the equipment far from the outlet, and then forget, go, stumble and fall, or even worse, turn the working device over onto himself. And if he uses an extension cord, he will no longer be able to sue the manufacturer.
The instruction book is written in many languages, in Russian 5 pages. It is clear, accessible. There is one recipe for waffles. Looking ahead, I'll say that I didn't like the recipe - 5 yolks, seriously? I didn't even try it, I found many other wonderful recipes on the forum.
Upstairs one thermo regulator and two light bulbs.
The regulator is smooth, from 0 to maximum.
The red light comes on as soon as you plug it in. And green lights up when the heating element heats up. When the temperature is reached, the green goes out. But when the temperature starts to drop, it will light up again.
By the way, if I understand about a short wire, then I don't understand the absence of an on / off button. All my appliances, from my expensive kitchen machine to my not-so-expensive multicooker, don't have this button. You have to insert the plug into the outlet to turn it on. Of all the equipment, only I don't pull the kettle back and forth from the outlet. Probably, this is also related to security, but since and you can forget to remove it from the socket, then I disagree. This is not a minus of waffle iron, because 99% of manufacturers do this, but just wanted to say it for a long time
At the bottom there are two rubber feet and ventilation holes.
The platform plays the role of the other two legs.
Large data sticker.
Let's open it already and see!
To open, you need to press the button under the handle. The handle and button are thermally insulated, but they may get warm if the device is used for a long time.
Inside there are two fixed plates on top and bottom. Space for two waffles. The coating looks very good. And looking ahead, I will say that everything is fine both in work and in cleaning. It did not burn, did not stick, it was removed easily, it remained as good as new. Excellent coverage!

Let's start cooking already!
For the waffles, I chose this recipe.
Crispy Belgian waffles from Larisa Volnitskaya (loravo) (Ukka)
I made the dough, and, as always, read the instructions later.
But you have to prepare the waffle iron before the first use!
According to the instructions, the waffle iron should be greased with oil, plugged in, turned the regulator, and closed for 10 minutes. There may be foreign odors. It is written that this is normal.
Switch off after 10 minutes - first turn the regulator to zero, then unplug it. Allow to cool (cooled quickly, about 10 minutes), wipe with a napkin.
Then grease again and pour in the dough.
But they advise not to eat the first waffles - they may have residues of industrial oil or something else. I didn’t know how much dough I needed to pour, so I decided, since I’ll throw the first ones anyway, I’ll not pour too much.
The instructions say bake for 4-5 minutes, but still peeped from time to time. Steam was coming out from under the lid, and the lid itself was covered with condensation.
After about 4-4.5 minutes, I decided that it was already done. But I can't try, I have to throw it away. I realized one thing - really poured little dough. Undershoot.
But on the other hand it is beautiful
I poured more.
Flight!
Hmm, you need to learn how to measure the dough correctly.
But the waffles came out pretty on all sides.
And delicious! Mmm, delicious!
Crispy and soft inside.
Well, then I baked, baked, and baked.
And I experimented with the dosage.
But only on the last waffle, when there was only enough dough for one piece, I finally measured the dough correctly, and all the edges came out high.
By the way, I forgot to tell you about the good feature of this waffle iron.
It can be stored vertically! Then it takes up very little space.

TOTAL
This is the first baking dish that I held in my hands.
I like it!
Fast, tasty, not troublesome.
If you make dough in the evening, then in the morning I got up, turned on the waffle iron, kettle, and went to wash. He came back washed, and you have breakfast ready.
800 watts seems to be not a lot, but reading about waffle irons and their choice, I saw such an opinion that it is not so much the power that matters, but the uniformity of heating of the heating element. Those. the quality of the heating element, and, of course, the coating. This is all well and good.
The handle and button do not heat up, you can open it with your bare hand. But it is better to keep the hand on the side, because hot steam comes out on opening.
4 + - minutes to bake one portion, bake evenly, does not burn.
The coverage is very good.
Compact and can be stored even more compactly - upright.
I didn’t find any minuses, well, perhaps a "goodbye figure".
And you also need to adapt to the test rate.
Personal conclusion:
It's good to have at least one such bake. To quickly and without hassle prepare something for tea, for the arrival of guests, etc. But which one or which one to choose - here already according to the wallet, aesthetic taste, the color of the kitchen, etc.
In such a waffle maker for Belgian waffles, you can make not only sweet waffles, but different ones. Meat, squash, potato, rice ...
Thick meat waffles with feta cheese and herbs (Babushka)
Potato and squash waffles (Tanyulya)
Gluten Free Rice Waffles (GruSha)
Waffles with bacon (Manna)
