Oatmeal cutlets with "surprise"

Category: Culinary recipes
Surprise oatmeal cutlets

Ingredients

Oat flakes (I had about 200 g)
Steep boiling water
Onion
Salt, spices, seasonings taste
For filling:
Cheese sticks
or any cheese of your choice
(I took "Russian" cut into cubes)

Cooking method

  • Pour the oat flakes into a bowl. Cut and fry the onion in a skillet.
  • Cut the hard cheese into cubes (fingers). We cut so many fingers, we want cutlets. The onions are fried, pour a bowl of flakes with boiling water so that you get a thick paste (that is, a little). We actively transform boiling water with flakes into a homogeneous mass, then add fried onions, mix. You can add any herb still, I had dried dill - added. Minced meat is ready. We take (I am a tablespoon) minced meat in our hands, make a cake and put a "finger" of cheese on it. Then we walled up this "finger" And the cutlet is ready. (do not knead the cakes on the board - it will stick). Well, that's all, the cutlets are stuck, now on the frying pan. Fry with no lid !!! The proportions of flakes and water - by eye ... from onions will not be worse.
  • I boiled oatmeal with boiling water and let it brew. Then I added fried onions, dried herbs (dill, parsley, green onions), dried garlic, a mixture of 4 peppers, ground paprika, salt, mixed everything thoroughly and started sculpting cutlets.

The family ate with great pleasure, by the way, without my prompting, none of the eaters guessed what the cutlets were made of, although ... my husband suggested that it was made from mushrooms ... I highly recommend cooking

Oh, my friend made such cutlets. Instead of water - a diluted chicken cube (I hate them, but in this case - super)

Tiny,

I see there are no eggs in the recipe. This means that you can do it with a lean filling - with the same mushrooms and onions. During Lent

I agree with you, a wonderful dish for fasting! Cheese can be replaced with soy (tofu), and indeed you can come up with many options for lean filling, I thought yesterday that it would be pretty tasty with a block of boiled carrots in the form of a "surprise", it is very convenient to use mini-carrots ... or as an option put in the filling one roach of Brussels sprouts boiled in steam, in my opinion it would also be nice ...

Girls, on the website WE PREPARE AT HOME, I found a wonderful recipe, thank you very much Olesya! The recipe is called Well-Fed Dad. The cutlets are very tasty, people cannot understand what they are made of. If this recipe is on the site, then please delete it.

Oat cutlets "Well-fed dad"

The cutlets are very tasty and satisfying, and due to the garlic aroma they look a bit like meat cutlets.

Structure

oatmeal - 1 glass,
water (boiling water) - ~ 0.5 cups,
fresh champignons - 3-4 pcs,
potatoes - 1 pc,
onion - 1 pc,
garlic - 2 cloves,
greens,
salt,
freshly ground pepper,
vegetable oil for frying

Preparation

Pour oatmeal into a bowl or saucepan, pour boiling water over, cover and leave to swell for ~ 20-30 minutes.

Peel the potatoes, wash and grate on a fine grater.
Peel and finely grate the onion.
Cut the champignons into small cubes.
Chop the greens.
Pass the garlic through a garlic press.
Add potatoes, onions, garlic, mushrooms and greens to the swollen oatmeal - mix well, salt and pepper.

The oat mass should not be too thick and not very liquid so that you can pick it up with a spoon.

Put oat cakes on a frying pan preheated with vegetable oil with a tablespoon.
Fry the cutlets over medium heat on one side until golden brown.
Turn over to the other side, fry for ~ 1 minute over medium heat, then reduce heat to low, cover and bring to readiness ~ 5 minutes

The cutlets can be served with fresh vegetables or mashed potatoes.

Try to cook, you won't regret it.

I've been making these cutlets three times already. Children with mushrooms fell in a bow. And my, eternally stewed husband (give him free rein, he would eat only cucumbers, they won't believe it, eats terribly badly!) Mummed them with pleasure. He liked the hot ones more. And the cold ones seemed tastier to me. Thank you!
