Ingredients

Meat 500 g
Bulb onions 200 g
Pumpkin (I have - frozen) 200 g
Rice (I have Jasmine) 350 g
Green peas (frozen) 150 g
Vegetable oil 2 tbsp. l.
Mayonnaise (optional) 2 tbsp. l.
Zira 0.5 - 1 tsp
Ground coriander 0.5 tsp
Dry. garlic 1 tsp
Dry. greens 1 tsp
Fine salt (in spoons from HP) 2 tsp
Pepper taste
Water 450 ml

Cooking method

  • Rice with meat, pumpkin and green peas, stewed in a pot
  • I make pilaf from any porridge. I will soon be afraid to cook small porridge, honestly.
  • So, I cooked this dish from a pork shoulder, but, of course, you can use any meat you like.

  • You need to cut it into small pieces, about three centimeters. Chop the onion as you like, I have 1 cm cubes.
  • In a large frying pan, over high heat, fry the meat until golden brown, and then add the onions to it. Without reducing the heat, fry until the desired beautiful color. If you want the color of the finished rice to be not pale, then the frying should be done darker. I have an average.

  • Now we turn off the fire and throw all the indicated ingredients into the pan (rice, of course, washed), except for salt, peas and water. Why in a frying pan, you ask? Because it is more convenient to mix in it - it's big here.

  • Now we shift the whole thing to the pot. I used the one on the left (its volume is 2.9 liters):

  • Now we dilute salt in hot (not boiling) water and fill in our rice.

But when I was about to take out the pot, I realized that the dish began to gain aroma. Honestly, you don't have to be a gourmet to tell the difference. I realized that the slow languor was good for this dish and immediately changed my mind about taking out the pot. I left it for another half hour. Total: the pot was spent in the oven for 2.5 hours (one and a half - in the on and an hour - in the off).
  • I must say that by that time we were not going to sit down at the table, so the pot was just on the table for about an hour, maybe a little more. In general, it has grown properly.
