Slow-cooked pearl barley soup with turkey, mushrooms and cream

Ingredients

Water 5 glasses
Turkey thigh with bone 500-600g
Barley * Mistral *, washed 3/4 cup
Carrots, grated on a coarse grater 1 glass
Celery stalk, small cubes 1 cup (2 petioles)
Champignons, cut into 4 pieces 250 g
Salt 2 tsp
Basil dry 1 tsp
Oregano dry 1 h, l.
Dry garlic 1/4 tsp
Cream 10% 3/4 cup
Black pepper, ground taste

Cooking method

  • The volume of the glass is 250 ml. The volume of the slow cooker is 4.5 liters.
  • Remove all visible fat from the thigh of the turkey.
  • Peel, wash and chop mushrooms, celery, grate carrots.
  • Pour water into the slowcooker bowl, put the meat in one piece, add washed barley, mushrooms, carrots, celery, salt, garlic, basil and oregano. Mix.
  • Cover and cook HIGH for 3-4 hours, depending on the hardness of the barley and carrots.
  • Then remove the meat, add 3/4 cup of cream to the soup and cook for another 20 minutes on HIGH.
  • Remove meat from bone, chop finely and return to soup.
  • Pepper to taste.
  • It turns out to be about 2.5-2.7 liters of soup in volume
