Bagels with jam and walnuts

Ingredients

flour 160 g
butter (room temperature) 150 g
cream cheese 130 g
Filling
jam 90 g
walnuts 70 g
egg to grease (optional)

Cooking method

  • Preheat oven to 190 degrees.
  • Mix softened butter with cream cheese, add flour, stir until smooth. Gather the dough into a ball, flatten slightly into a cake, wrap in plastic, put in the refrigerator for half an hour.
  • Fry the nuts for 5 minutes in a dry frying pan or in the oven, then chop them.
  • Roll out the dough into a circle 30-35 cm in diameter. Spread the circle with jam, sprinkle with nuts. Cut into 16 wedges. Roll each wedge into a bagel, starting at the wide end.

  • Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  • (Optional: shake the egg with two tablespoons of water, grease the bagels.)
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes (until golden brown).

We most often made with plum jam.
However, a completely simple filling is also suitable - sugar with cinnamon. Then the dough can be rolled out thinner, and the bagels will resemble puff. The main thing is not to dry them out.
And, of course, the role of cream cheese was most often performed by diet curd in tubes. Now there are no problems with this.
