Milk 250ml
Sugar 50g
Egg 1 PC
Flour 2 tbsp. l.
Zest of half a lemon
Flour 150g
Egg 2 pcs
Sugar 200g
Milk 50ml
Vegetable oil 50ml
Zest of half a lemon
Baking powder 0.5h l.
Salt 0.5h l.
Cocoa (optional) 1 tsp

Cooking method

Make a custard. Mix the egg, sugar, flour and zest in a saucepan.
Add milk and boil until thick, stirring constantly. Cool down.
For the dough, beat eggs with sugar, salt and vanilla until fluffy and light.
Add milk and vegetable oil. Beat.
Add flour and baking powder. Mix at low mixer speed. Stir in cocoa if desired. No cocoa is added in the original recipe. I added it for color contrast to show the texture of the cake.
Pour the dough into a 20cm mold. Spread the custard on top and bake until tender, 45-50 minutes, in an oven preheated to 180 degrees.
Cool the cake, sprinkle with powdered sugar on top.


Delicious and popular in Italy Torta Nua dessert. Airy, fluffy sponge cake interspersed with delicate custard cream. The cake has an unusual beautiful cut with polka dots. There is a wide variety of flavors for this cake. I suggest trying the lemon one.
