Andalusia - a journey through time

Andalusia is considered one of the most fun regions in Spain. It occupies a part in the south of the Iberian Peninsula. Many holidays and a wide variety of traditions attract a lot of travelers. Local residents and many visitors say that this is where the warmest sea and a very long summer are.

Andalusia is one of the particularly large and significant regions of Spain. It is located at the most extreme point in the south of the peninsula, washed by the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Andalusia is adjacent to Portugal, Murcia and Castile La Mancia.

The abrupt changes in the landscape cannot but surprise: the plains abruptly cease to be sheer cliffs, the wet swamps suddenly turn into sultry deserts. Only here you can enjoy both the cold of the Alpine peaks and the pleasant hot weather of the Mediterranean.

Speaking about this region, it is simply necessary to pay at least a bit of attention to history. For centuries, various tribes and monarchies lived in Andalusia, which later replaced nations. At first, this part of Spain attracted barbarians, who were later replaced by the Visigoths. However, the Arabs lived here the longest. They were attracted by the beauty and various riches of this region.

The whole of Andalusia is literally saturated with the Arab spirit. The Arabs left behind many inventions, terms, hitherto unknown cuisine and many other innovations. This Eastern people changed and innovated until the end of the fifteenth century. All Andalusia is filled with ancient monuments. These are various towers and fortresses, cathedrals and villages. We can say that this is just the ideal place for tourism: the sea, the ocean, a huge number of sunny days and gorgeous beaches.

The Costa del Sol is not in vain considered one of the most beautiful and best tourist destinations in Andalusia. It is here that the most famous resorts are located: Estepona, Marbella, Fuengirola and many others. In translation Costa del Sol means "sunny beach". And this is quite the right decision, since the bright sun shines here for almost a whole year.

The entire coastline is filled with magnificent hotels, beautiful parks and gardens. Part of the coast is called the Golden Mile. The name comes from the huge private villas that belong to the most famous people. There are also many casinos, yacht clubs and tennis and golf courses.

Besides Sunny Beach, you should visit Seville and Granada. Like many other cities in Spain, Andalusia pays a lot of attention to bullfighting. Any fair or holiday does not take place without a bullfight. This tradition began as entertainment for the nobility. However, this spectacular performance has reached us and is accessible to all. Andalusia is the center of Spanish bullfighting.

Flamenco, known to the whole world, was born in this part of the Iberian Peninsula. It takes its origin from the migrated gypsies. The national cuisine is filled with various delicacies and simply delicious dishes. You can taste the delicious gazpacho soup and a huge variety of great dishes.
