Hello to all forum users. I do not know correctly, I am writing, maybe not in the subject, but if I was mistaken then correct me. I have a sore question, if someone hears me, help me figure it out, I want to buy a refrigerator bag and I don't understand, I can bring the freeze in this bag so that it doesn't melt in 12 hours, if anyone has experience in this regard, please help to spend the money well. Thank you all for your attention and understanding.

Cooler bag

sazalexter
natamaslova there are cooler bags with active cooling (Thermoelectric car refrigerator) supporting 15 ± 3 ° C relative to the ambient temperature.
natamaslova
sazalexter Thank you for the quick response, but as I understand it, you need to turn it on in the cigarette lighter, this is in the front seat I will have a large box, and I have 6 Lada, this is not very convenient, but if it is bad or good with cold accumulators, or I don't understand something by I really liked the size and for the money too, but I need to understand how it all works

natamaslovaI had a similar experience. True, not quite a cooler bag, but I'll write. At one time, the power supply in our house was often cut off, and the stoves were electric, so even heating it up was a big problem. Then I don't remember where and how, but I bought a large hexagonal foam container with a lid. In fact, both this container and the cooler bag are just heat insulators. If before the trip you put well-frozen food in your bag and add it there (I can't remember now what the names of such briquettes with liquid for the freezer are, they often come with a refrigerator), then most likely it will be possible to deliver. It also depends on the outside temperature, on the volume of products and on the tightness of the bag itself. In any case, with our foam container, we took food with us into the car even without any freezing, (only with such a frozen briquette) and delivered everything calmly. Oh ... there was once frozen meat brought to St. Petersburg from Belarus. Now I will not say for sure whether it thawed, but that it did not deteriorate for sure. Otherwise, I would definitely remember.

At one time she transported frozen products from Moscow to Tver, arrived very well and even then remained frozen for a long time.
I had a container with a handle, thick walls, a tight lid,
Blocks (attached to the container) with refrigerant were placed inside the container, which also needed to be strongly frozen.
So I laid them - from below, on the sides, frozen blocks on top, frozen meat and other products inside.

Then they began to use this container for transporting food to the dacha, and partly storage in it at the dacha.

AdminThank you, I wanted to hear this, because I have to drive 6 hours, well, add 2 hours while I connect the refrigerator and if the dumplings arrive frozen, this will be what I need cold accumulators I have, and they will also be in the application, so it is probably not necessary to buy expensive stuff the main thing is tightness and that the volume is large, I think correctly
Admin
Right
However, I'm not sure about dumplings
izumka
We have a cooler bag and cold accumulators (we took everything in the Metro), we use it all the time and are very happy, so don't worry, your dumplings will arrive safe and sound. Moreover, it is winter now and all this will most likely be in the trunk. We have these refrigerants constantly in the freezer and at any time they are ready for the trip.
natamaslova
izumka, hello, thanks for responding, can you advise which bag is better than a rag or plastic and how many batteries you need, i.e. briquettes
dopleta
In the summer I often use a rag (like a backpack) and a large plastic one. We regularly go to an island in the Gulf of Finland, where there is no electricity, and we carry raw meat for the dog. And, although it happens in the summer, the meat in a plastic bag, lined with freezing elements on all sides, remains cold for more than a day.

dopleta. The islands on the bay are great now, of course, there are a lot of people there, we are also there in June, we always celebrate the birthday of a friend, we can see the boat Bagheera Well, okay, what is the best bag to take to bring the dumplings frozen

Plastic, with thick walls, and line with frozen batteries on all sides. And don't heat up the stove in the car too much!
natamaslova
dopleta This is what suits me now, at least I have heard the advice. Now I will search. I’ll be too lazy to go somewhere now. Recently they brought me a gadget called SALAT-CHIFF. I am glad now I make all vinaigrette salads on it. Thanks again

Admin I have revised it seems all I really do not want to buy expensive but 30 liters. all for 3000 rubles and above, and the principle of operation of what is expensive, which is cheaper, seems to be the same, eyes run up, although in St. Petersburg it is not very rich with a choice. I'll think
natamaslova
Yes Admin, I'm all in thought, I found 30 liters, like nothing, for 2600 rubles. then for the delivery of 300 rubles and even the cold accumulator to bribe 500 rubles and what happens?
izumka
I have a fabric bag, I was guided by the fact that when folded it takes up little space, so it always lies in the trunk just in case, although the plastic one, in theory, keeps the cold longer. But we are still satisfied with ours.

Every summer we travel with the company as savages to the sea on vacation, and this is about 10-13 hours of travel. So our friends take a refrigerator bag. They have it ragged and lined with all these frozen "blocks". We lay down the meat and fish well frozen, everything went perfectly to the Crimea. Didn't even defrost.

I have a large fabric (from a sportsmaster, in a set of 4 "bricks"). IMHO, fabric is better - firstly, it can be rolled up empty, and secondly, with especially dense stuffing, it still stretches a little. You need a lot of "bricks" (batteries). On my big one, there are ideally 8 pieces (note - there are also large ones, the size of two usual ones, I saw in the sportsmaster this summer), so that you can overlay it on all sides. Holds very well for 12 hours, I guess. In the heat, I defrost the freezer - meat, fish, and berries - everything is fine. but as for sausage, cheese, etc. (after taking out the meat for the shish kebab) - a day and a half is normal, if not in the heat. on Friday evening I laid everything, all Saturday the sausage, etc. were cold-cool, and even on Sunday lunch nothing yet became warm and did not deteriorate (at a temperature of about +10 ... + 15). Additionally - you can also put frozen water bottles around the edges. so I carried it in the heat, when there was not so much food in the bag, but water is still needed - the food is among the "bricks", and along the edges of the water bottle from the freezer.

Lina is super, I am very grateful for the responses to my suffering and the bag itself is very thin or are there some pads

Do you know thermal bags in supermarkets? large rectangular, snap-on handle, silvery, like a thin layer of gel inside, they usually hang near chilled fish and frozen fish. the same, only 2-3 times thicker. That is, the outer layer is fabric, something like a gel, and the inner layer is silvery.

add. It's not like summer outside, a bag in the trunk - it's colder there. Homemade dumplings were taken in a small (three liters, no more) thermo bag with two "bricks", but only 2-3 hours.
Caprice
I have 3 of these plastic thermos bags: 35 liters, 22 liters, 11 liters (we call them "tsaydanit" in Hebrew). And also a backpack. For convenience, I always carry a thermal bag and an 11-liter thermos bag in the trunk of my car. This is in case of grocery purchases, which in our hot climate need to be brought home in a normal condition. For picnics and outings, most often, we use the 35-liter option if we go for a day or the 22-liter option if the planned outing is for a couple of hours. And a backpack is if you go to the beach in the summer and take something cool and a light snack with you. Cold accumulators (we call them "kerhonim") are constantly kept in the freezer in case of need. Although, I'm thinking about a car refrigerator that runs on a cigarette lighter. I wonder how long the cord is, so that if you put such a refrigerator in the trunk of a car, will the cord reach the cigarette lighter if you put it under the seats? Do not put this in the car ... Although, on the other hand, it will work only when the car is in motion, and when it is parked and closed? Then there is zero sense with this auto-refrigerator, because the cigarette lighter still does not work when the key is not in the ignition lock ... Unless, if you also drag the generator with you, and fuel to the generator. Perhaps not worth buying.
dopleta
Caprice, it does not have to be kept permanently connected to the network. I turn it on and off. I won't say about the full length of the wire now, because I also have an outlet in the trunk, and I turn it on there. But, honestly - I rarely use a car bag, more often - an ordinary one.
Caprice
dopleta, but it is unlikely that I will run to the car every time to turn it on and off in case we go on a weekend with tents for a day or two. There are two options: either I'll burn off the gasoline, or I'll put the battery on, and it's good if there is someone who will "give a light" so that later start the car to get home. Both are unprofitable. So, in any case, there is no point in buying a car refrigerator powered by a cigarette lighter. Let's get by with thermos bags with frozen blocks.
AnetKa
We made our own cooler bag.
Gingerbread
I understand correctly that all these cooler bags can be used to keep food hot, like a thermos. Or as a thermos are they still not the same?
