Lena, I can say with 100% certainty that you will be satisfied with the purchase. We are all happy with our readers. They also think that everyone will agree with my motto "Every family member has a reader" I have Pocket 611, it will soon be a year.
LenaV07
Yes, I also hope that in any case there should be advantages. I'm just afraid that I won't be able to fully master all the possibilities. I also use the phone only to make a call or send an SMS. As I read on the discussion forums, the brains boil ... With an ordinary book, you can, after all, climb wherever you want ... at least forward, at least backward, a finger has settled or a beautiful bookmark and no problems. Or when there are a bunch of imported names or several storylines, sometimes you come back ... To what extent will these possibilities be realized in the email? You will educate me later with the whole forum
Gael
So in e-mail it is even easier to climb back and forth, bookmarks, etc. One problem: I have a touchscreen, so I had to exclude the apple in bed with the book

Lena, I have a big Pocket. Very easy control. I'm happy with everyone !! I even connected the Internet in the summer with a SIM card. The only thing is that it does not unpack some archives. I corresponded for a very long time with the Pocket Support Center, but they did not understand each other. Therefore, I download the books first to the computer, unpack, and then only to the book, the source file.
LenaV07
Omela
This is probably your 903 pocket? I also wanted this because of 3G. So they were taken out of production. The 912 even has a SIM card slot, but the contacts are not displayed.

In principle, it should be so. Reads directly from the archive (no need to unpack at all) only the fb2 format.
Personally, the format of a book with a 6 "screen is much more convenient for me. Recently I had to read directly from the Internet on a tablet. Besides, even though I mostly read at home, I still have a vacation once a year, and it is more convenient to carry a book to the beach.

Oh, then everything is ok!
Large format is convenient for scanned pdf magazines. And on the road, yes, the little one is more convenient of course. So I want a second for this.

If we are talking about convenience, so to speak, wearing and nothing more, then, naturally, a small gadget is more convenient. And if the eyes bye-bye? Once, I was surprised to note that the text on the medicine bottle was better read at arm's length. I chose between Pocketbook 622 and Sony T2., And my husband insisted on Pocketbook 912. I didn't even want to take it in my hands, but then I still thought that since I had come to the store, why not take a look? And that's all, the issue was resolved in one minute. Moreover, the original goal is to read at home. Although ... +/- 1 kg ...
And today I should have already been with a new toy, but it looks like it’s not polished ... I haven’t come yet ... So, at best, tomorrow, and at worst, the day after tomorrow ...

Lenok, I have 6 inches, but the joke is that you can put the font in it whatever you want, I put it in a giant, sooo convenient recently I complained here to the girls - I read a book, paper, simply because it was not yet in the electronic version. so - uzhoss !! the font is small, pale, the book is heavy, and the pages must be held with your fingers, otherwise they close; oh, how we have already spoiled here, who would have told me a couple of years ago

Lenok, I have 6 inches, but the trick is that you can put the font you want in it
Due to the connection between the screen diagonal and the size of the letters, no Only - this is a PDF format, it is a parasite, it also grows, but the pages are not converted, and in a book with a small diagonal you have to fidget with the joystick for reading this is not necessary, since the vast majority of books can be found in FB2, RTF and other, comfortable. And we have this problem due to the daughter's unwillingness to carry textbooks (the backpack is too heavy). And all the available textbooks in electronic form in PDF, and even quality. Now I'm thinking of buying just for this an inexpensive booklet with an 8-9 "screen and a TFT display. And then the cunning tablet asks, and then there are games, and it's worth it, if something happens to him. But at school, how can it not happen? Has looked after some Assistant, does anyone know anything about them?
Gael
Lisss's, I already wrote somewhere here that there is such a small program, caliber, it converts from format to format. Now I'm trying to convert pdf to fb2. It seems to work
LenaV07

Well, what about none? If the font increases, then the amount of text fits less. On 912 I was seduced by the fact that the font is large enough, and the page format (number of text) is close to the usual. And in 6-ke a couple of paragraphs in the same font size ... Or am I misunderstanding something?
k.alena
In principle, correct, but a couple of paragraphs is overkill. For example, I now have the same text open in a Word on a laptop and in a 6 "reader. The font size in the reader is approximately the same as in paper fiction (I took it from the shelf to compare). The number of pages in the reader is 2 , 2 times, that is, on one page of the reading room, it fits half a page of A4. IMHO it is quite normal.
Naturally, you shouldn't have any inconveniences, if only because this is your first reader and you will get used to this format. I read a lot, so I got used to mine and it was not convenient with the iPad.
Lisss's
Lena, yes, there will be less text on the e-mail, but this does not interfere with reading in any way - the buttons are easy to press, you scroll, you don't notice .. I did not feel any inconvenience
LenaV07
k.alena
So my problem is that the usual book font no longer suits me ... Old age, be it wrong, crept up to me and back of the head eyes-boomsss .... Therefore, under my comfortable size of the text it turns out a little on the screen.

Lyudochka, I can assume that this is a purely psychological moment, the desire to see the text like on a paper book. I deliberately put both models side by side and compared. 912 was more comfortable for me. Well, then, do not contradict your beloved husband, who insists on a more expensive model ... Although Sonya T2, red, is such a bum ...

I have a Kindle touch, so I put a smaller font so that it would take longer to read the page, otherwise it's too lazy to touch the eran once again, but I'm short-sighted - it's convenient for me. But the husband puts his books in a huge font, and the book is far from his eyes, he knows better, he also began to lack

I, too, after buying a reading room realized that this is a logical continuation of my kitchen bells and whistles
I have Kindle-5, they say, the screen is lighter compared to Kindle-4. Honestly, I didn't notice the difference. A relative bought a Kindle-4 touch, so she twisted both in her hands.
And now I ask you not to fight with your slippers. This relative complains that the touchscreen is inconvenient for her, regrets that it is not a push-button. He says it's inconvenient to poke at the screen.
Lena, congratulations on your purchase!

I also tried Pocket Touch of my son, I wanted to change my 602 - I didn't like it. Maybe if with a stylus, but then the extra bells and whistles should be kept at hand. And it is not convenient for me personally to use the dictionary, although I looked at the touch screen precisely because I often read with a dictionary.
Grypana
It's as you get used to. I already, when I read I do not notice, I tweak or press a button. Shines - does not shine, yellower, grayer, whiter. The main thing is the plot, I'm all tama. If there are no books nearby - then there is a guard, what to do?
azaza
Natal, I have nothing to compare with, I have a current button. I "tach" I exclusively on the phone A relative complains, not me. But just in case, the child will take the same as mine. And the screen is lighter, darker - I really don't pay attention to that.
I regret one thing - that for too long I looked with prejudice towards the readers. But I could not read because of vision problems in 4 years! She has deprived herself of so much pleasure, stupid!
Gael

Current can be bought from us cheaper than on Amazon. I don’t know how in Russia, but here it is cheaper: this one costs UAH 900 at the current exchange rate, but in our Internet stores you can take it for UAH 810. With advertising, it is true, but on the contrary, it decorates: it turns out like a real book, even with a cover. True, the cover is different every time, and obviously does not fit the book you are reading. But it’s still somehow more fun with it.

And what accessories should you order from what is there? It offers a leather case, a case with a lamp and some kind of sleeves (according to the picture - a purse on fashion). What do you really need?
900 UAH - is it a hop in rubles? 79 euros = 3160 in rubles.
I looked at us - 3780r. So the Amazon rules us.
azaza
Ah, we have a slightly different course today. I checked it with a converter - 79 euros = 855 UAH. But from us, as I said, you can take Kindle-5 for 810 UAH. True, I took it more expensive before the new year, right now the prices have dropped slightly.
Grypana
Anna, and about accessories - how and where will you read? How to carry-carry? Maybe a cover is enough, and if on the road, then a flashlight will not hurt. And so - instead of a cover, a cosmetic bag came up surprisingly. I did not buy a cover.
Chef
I was saddened by the killed Onyx Titan or whatever, and today I took the Gmini MagicBook C6HD. Took it at random, from what was. I chose it, because with the same 6 inches as the Pocket and Sonya, it has a screen resolution of 1024x768. And the cover is included. I took it for 3990, and now I'm looking at YAMe - the price for it starts from five thousand plus a tail, it's not clear

First impressions - small text very clear, with Pocketbook 622 and Sony from the same category it cannot be compared!

🔗 And what they call paperwhite and costs 129 euros - is it a touch? There are no buttons in the figure. And there seems to be no need to buy an additional lamp. And one more thing: I understand that the charger is not included in the kit? Should I buy it separately? I read it there
Grypana
Yes, it's a touch. Why buy a charger? Everything is perfectly charged from the computer.A cord comes with the book. If you are thinking of leaving for a long time and there will be no computer anywhere further, then it probably makes sense to buy a charger. I haven't been home for a long time. But I don't have a charger. As that while I manage. My Sonya keeps a charge up to 2-3 weeks. It depends on how I will keep it - in sleep mode or in a disabled mode at all.

There is no principled one, take any of them. In the 5th Kindle, the manufacturer claims a slightly better and lighter screen. Applying to the 4th, I did not notice such an obvious difference in the screens.

Anna1957, I ordered a mains charger and a backlit case for my Kindle. Rather, the husband ordered, but the presents have not arrived yet. A cover is required, but whether it is backlit or a flashlight is better separately - I will tell you later when I wait and test the gift. But the need for a flashlight is already being felt.
Charging is not to say what is needed. You can do without it. I would not have spent, but my husband did not consult, he ordered it himself.

Girls, help me, dear!
This morning my little lyalechka greeted me with a gray screen, in the middle there is a drawing-outline of a battery. I understood this as a desire to get a portion of food. I read that the first time you need to charge when the device is off for 8-12 hours. I held it for a couple of seconds. the on / off button, the image "Dear user! Thank you ......" appeared, and after pressing the same button, I also have such an image

In short, I don't understand when the book is turned off, what should be on its screen?
I now charge from a computer, set it at 15.00, and at 19.00 the yellow light began to burn constantly. I read somewhere that if it burns constantly after less time than it is supposed to charge, then you need to disconnect the cord, and then turn it on again after a couple of seconds and the indicator will start flashing again. I did so, the indicator is flashing, I wait for it to light up without flashing and turn it off.
Girls, please tell us how you charge your pockets and how to understand if the book is turned off?
k.alena
When the book is off, a splash screen appears. Its appearance depends on the firmware and settings. The screensaver itself (and its presence) can be selected in the settings: Settings - Appearance - Screensaver on shutdown. There you can also select a splash screen at startup.
I charge differently. When I read with a dictionary, the battery sits down much faster (features of the dictionary). I connect to my computer as I discharge. Honestly, I don’t look at the fire, because I’m sitting near the computer and doesn’t bother me. Or I put it on the network at night through an adapter, usually a full charge overnight.
Babushka
I have been reading Kindle Touch for a long time. Leather cover. I charge from the network. Charging is enough for a long time. I am very satisfied.
