Roast squid "Tagin Sibate" (Egyptian cuisine)

Squid roast Tagin Sibate (Egyptian cuisine)

Ingredients

Peeled squid 0.5KG
Tomatoes 2-3 pcs.
Hot chili
(or sweet bell pepper)
1 PC.
Celery
Juice of 2 limes (lemons)
Corn oil
Salt pepper
(turmeric, saffron, coriander, dry mint, cumin)
Large bulbs 2 pcs.
Garlic 2-3 slices
Water 1/2 tbsp.
Lime for decoration 2 pcs.

Cooking method

  • Peel the squid, remove the tentacles, entrails, cut into pieces or circles, wash and pour with lemon juice ...
  • Cut the onion into half rings, finely chop the garlic, chop the celery. Cut the tomatoes into cubes. ( added garlic before putting in the oven)
  • Fry the onion and garlic in oil, add the celery and chopped chili, (instead of chili, added bell pepper) fry for 5 minutes, stirring continuously. Add tomatoes, salt and pepper, simmer until the sauce thickens.
  • Top up with water (if necessary) and bring to a boil. Lay out the squids. Pour the whole composition into a heat-resistant dish, put in the oven for 15 minutes at medium temperature. Bake until the top crust is browned. Decorate with herbs and lemon wedges, serve. (You can serve rice as a side dish, but today I have baked potatoes)
