Austrian donuts

Ingredients

Wheat flour 350 g
Milk 200 ml
Salt 1 tsp
Sugar 2 tbsp. l.
Rast. oil 3 tbsp. l.
Fresh yeast
(or 2 tsp dry)
12 g

Cooking method

  • Knead the dough in KhP on the bread dough mode (2 h. 20 min.)
  • After kneading, put on the table and roll into a layer 5-7mm thick. Cut round cakes about 5-7 cm in diameter with a glass, and leave to stand for 10-15 minutes. to double up. Then, crush the middle of the cake between the thumb and forefinger, forming a depression in it (but not a hole!). We deep-fry them (I fried them in a pan, oils about 1-1.5 cm, until the middle of the donut), over low heat. After frying, place on napkins or paper towel to remove excess oil. Then sprinkle with icing sugar and put jam or jam in the hollow on all donuts.

Donuts of this kind are served in cafes and all kinds of tea establishments in Austria and Germany. They cook them not on machines, but by hand.
