Broccoli gratin

Ingredients

Broccoli 800-900 g
Milk (hot) 750 ml
Butter 30 g
Wheat flour 2 tbsp. l.
(with a slide)
Cheese (grated) 150 g
Breadcrumbs 3 tbsp. l.

Cooking method

  • For a 26 cm mold (but it is better to cook in portions)
  • Disassemble the broccoli into inflorescences or, if frozen, defrost.
  • Cook the béchamel sauce. Melt the butter in a large heavy-bottomed skillet, add flour and fry until golden brown. Slowly, stirring all the time, add hot milk. Boil the sauce until thick.
  • Salt, pepper, add nutmeg, bring until small bubbles appear and send broccoli to the sauce. Cook, not forgetting to stir, for about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and add half of the cheese.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the remaining cheese and bread crumbs.
  • Grease the baking dish with butter. Spread broccoli with sauce, top with cheese mixture.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Cooking program:

We put in an oven preheated to 220-230 degrees and bake until golden brown.

Note

Somehow I found broccoli in the bowels of the freezer, carefully hidden by someone in the farthest corner. It was not there! This is how gratin appeared for tonight's dinner in protest.
