Cooking method

  • Saturday, I want to cook something interesting. What? if a defrosted piece of lean pork is hanging lonely in a bowl. All week pork: chopped, fried, stewed. I really want fish, but there is no good fish in the city. On the shelves are piles of frozen nightmare in a thick ice crust with the romantic name "frosting". You can't make fish out of pork. Well, if we don't make fish, then we will make mutton.

  • We start with the sauce. Fry finely chopped onions until golden brown in butter, add flour, stir gently so that the flour absorbs the oil, then pour in hot cream, stir and add very hot water, almost boiling water. Salt, pepper, add a pinch of sugar and freshly grated nutmeg, also a pinch. The sauce is ready.
  • I cut peeled potatoes arbitrarily, but not very finely, I always cut the torquin into a roast with thin round slices, mushrooms, if large - I cut, and if such a trifle, then whole. I crush the garlic, and then I cut it coarsely enough. Grated simple cheese on a coarse grater, cut the goat into small pieces.
  • Mix vegetables with meat, salt and pepper, almost any grass, goat cheese. Arrange in pots (I have one big one). Top with tomato slices, pour over the sauce and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in pots with lids for 1 hour, temperature - 180g,. Then open the lid, let the cheese lightly brown (my fig is not browned). If there are no lids, cover with foil.
  • It's really delicious and the goat cheese gives the pork a mutton flavor

The dish looks very appetizing. I wonder if you can replace goat cheese with feta cheese?

I think not, there will be no lamb taste, and, to be honest, I can't even imagine how the feta cheese will behave in the sauce
