Pea soup with bacon in a slow cooker

Ingredients

1 cup yellow peas
2 heaping tablespoons of dried vegetable soup mixture = fresh: 1 onion + 1 carrot + greens - finely chopped.
4 potatoes
1 pack of s / c bacon (200 gr)
2-3 lavrushki
4-6 peas of allspice
3 cloves of garlic
salt
water

Cooking method

  • Many people like to eat pea soup, but do not like to cook it, because it takes too long to cook. I am no exception, so we will trust his multicooker.
  • Rinse the peas and add water overnight. If you forgot in the evening, then pour boiling water in the morning for 3-4 hours, periodically changing it, boiling water.
  • Put the prepared peas in a multicooker, add dried vegetables, lavrushka and pepper, pour water. Pour water to the desired thickness of the soup, in a multicooker it practically does not boil away. Switch on the EXTINGUISHING mode for 1.5 hours.
  • Peel and chop the potatoes, add to the soup along with chopped strips of bacon and chopped garlic, salt and put on STEERING for 1 hour.

Yesterday I cooked pea soup and thought, to share or not? While I was thinking, the soup was cooked, almost eaten, and here is Likin's recipe. I'll put in my 5 kopecks about this! I don't soak the peas, I fry them (onion + carrots), put in some smoked meats, what is there (pork ribs, skin and bone from the shank, the same bacon) I fry it a little together with the frying pan on the "Baking" mode, top up water, put the peas, in the "Steam cooking" mode I bring to a boil and put them in the "Steaming" mode for 1.5 hours, when the program ends, put the potatoes and cook for 5 minutes on the "Steam cooking". Here's a fun process

.... Once upon a time .... in December 1990. in Gelendzhik, in one of the restaurants, I ate pea soup with smoked meats. It was a delicious soup! Part of the peas dissolved in mashed potatoes, and part was whole peas .... about frying with vegetables, I don't remember .... there were pieces of smoked duck, and it was incredibly tasty! How can I repeat this? I don't have smoked duck, but I have good smoked pork ribs, and they have a lot of delicious smoked meat on them. What to do with peas to get this effect?

Take whole peas, cook them without soaking, visually countering ... My children love pudde, so I digest it to a puree state, but sometimes I rebel and cook pea soup, like in a Sovdep's canteen ... half-boiled th peas and broth on top

Try two options:
1.Soak part of the peas in water overnight. Cook the soaked and raw peas together until the raw peas are tender. Then get boiled and whole peas in one time.
2. Take red lentils and yellow peas together. Cook together - the lentils will boil down quickly in 15 minutes, the peas will take longer to cook.
Since lentils and peas are legumes, you won't notice a substitute to taste.

SchuMakher, there is never too much pea soup Pea soup with bacon in a slow cooker
Recently I have come across "elderly" peas, so I began to soak, for reliability. Half of the family loves mashed potatoes, they are right in the plate with mnu, the second with peas, they eat like that. But, everyone needs soft peas

Girls, and I'm now making soup from young peas. In the pack, it is not yellow, but green. It boils down instantly. The taste is sweetish. It is so tasty that when you think of soup, saliva flows like Pavlov's dog.

I think your peas turned out to be OLD PEPPER.
I see no other reason. I soaked and for four hours in total, everything cooked perfectly. And the ratio of water in the soup does not play a role here.
Lika
The volume of the peas has nothing to do with it, the liquid, judging by the photo, was quite enough and the cartoon copes with such volumes at once, these are old peas. Unfortunately, they are already selling this. Soak it, soak it, then boil it, boil it, and it's all solid.

In the multi-stew, low T, on the stove we immediately bring to a boil, therefore, in the multi, it is initially cooked longer. On the stove, all the same, whole peas cannot be boiled in an hour, crushed peas can.
And, yet, in the cartoon, we do not pour risks above the last one.

I cooked pea soup, but nothing happened.
Peas in 7 hours did not turn into porridge at all. I'm shocked. How to cook a pea in a cartoon?
I cooked it like this: fried the onions, then added the peas, poured boiling water over the carrots and put them on the stewing mode for 3 hours.
An hour later I added potatoes and spices. Then I put it on for another 4 hours and nothing ... the peas just started to boil. She poured boiling water over it at night.
I cook it on the stove for 2-3 hours and it turned out great, but here
SchuMakher
It's strange .... I always get boiled over. Maybe there is something wrong with the peas ... You EXACTLY tried to cook THIS peas on the stove, just eat peas that boil very badly always and everywhere ... old crop, well, very old ...
tat-63
Chamomile, are you soaking peas? I soak overnight, and the round is not chipped, it boils down in 30 minutes

Maroussia 29, I'm sorry I didn't answer right away. I forgot my password while lying in the hospital. You turned out to be right - the legend of OLD PEPPER and touched me. I cooked pea soup today. It stood soaked all night (peas) boiled for 5 hours, and at least knock on it with a hammer. Even green peas are not cooked (I always mix with yellow ones).
And on the stove it was cooked in 2 hours. I'm going to cook this soup on the stove.
Probably true, the temperature difference affects here, because in Mult it is really lower.

Peas and I are not friends either, it turns out every other time, why, it's not clear
, since I freaked out at all, cooked for 2 hours, and he was glass, spat, and into his blender.
Lika
And this time the situation is the opposite for me. Knowing that the peas are not very young and that they boiled for a long time last time, I poured boiling water over them for 10 minutes before cooking.

She put the soup to cook, put everything in and at once, so after 2 hours there was PUREE

Girls, I got a multicooker quite by accident and quite recently. Now I have begun the basics of studying this "beast". You yourself understand that I can not say anything about the technology of cooking in a multicooker neither pea soup, nor anything else. But I want to share the technology of cooking pea soup with smoked meats under normal conditions on a gas stove. Probably, if you adapt the multicooker to this technology, it will be even tastier. In any case, it is probably best to cook pea porridge there!
I cook separately the smoked broth (by the way, if there are no ribs, then I replace it with a piece of smoked sausage). I soak the peas for 6 - 8 hours at least, or even just overnight. I definitely drain the water.
In a completely separate saucepan I combine the peas with water and bring to a boil for 2 - 3 minutes. Drain the water again. (All this is done to reduce the subsequent metabolism in the stomachs of eaters) And then I set to cook this pea porridge: I peel the carrot, cut it into 4 parts, put it on top of the peas, salt, pepper, put the bay leaf and pour water. In the process of boiling water during cooking, I add water. I cook for a long time (I didn't time it) - until the peas are completely softened. Then I take it off the fire.I throw away the lying carrots and lavrushki and make a delicious puree from this pea porridge, adding salt and pepper. Some peas will still not be mushy if you do it not with a blender, but with a crush. And only then I throw this porridge into the broth with smoked meats boiling on a plie, where 10 minutes before the porridge was thrown, I covered potatoes and chopped onions fried until golden brown. Boil - try the taste - add salt, add pepper.
As the potatoes are cooked - turn them off.

I'll try to clarify that this post is in the topic here.
The consistency of peas in the finished product was very vividly discussed here.
I offered my recipe. After all, this pea puree for soup is great to cook in a slow cooker.

In recipe topics, it is customary to leave your feedback if you cooked strictly according to the recipe or prepared by adding your own additions.

There is one recipe in this thread quick making pea soup in a slow cooker.
Key words "fast" and "multicooker".
Want to share your cooking recipe on the stove, make it a separate topic in the appropriate section.

Good day
In the process of mastering this miracle of technology (Maruchi 47) came across this recipe. Many thanks to the author. And I decided to cook. True, I dumped all the ingredients in the multican and turned on the soup mode. You are asking what I put in a saucepan - see above + a piece of beef 300 gr. After the end of the program, added greens (parsley and dill) + two cloves of garlic and another 5 minutes in the steaming mode. Taste ......... spisifissk iy (A. Raikin) Tastes are not ordinary.
Yes. By the way. The peas are boiled almost in mashed potatoes and without any soaking ...
