Sun-dried tomatoes

Ingredients

Tomatoes
Provencal herbs
Olive or sunflower oil
Garlic

Cooking method

  • There is a recipe for such tomatoes, but cooked in the oven. They languish there for several hours. Despite the fact that these tomatoes are sooooo delicious, it is very long and tiring. I stumbled upon Alena Ovchinnikova's recipe by chance. Now I only use it. It's very fast and delicious! So,
  • Wash the tomatoes, cut into four parts (I took large cream - they are fleshy and non-watery). Use a teaspoon or coffee spoon to free the seeds and juice from the seeds. Put in a deep plate or dish with sides.
  • Season with salt, sprinkle with Provencal dry herbs, sprinkle with olive or refined sunflower oil.
  • Sun-dried tomatoes
  • Place a plate of tomatoes in the microwave for 5 minutes at full power. At the end of the time, leave the plate, without opening the MKV, for another 10 minutes. Then take out a plate and drain the resulting juice into a container.
  • Sun-dried tomatoes
  • Put the plate back in the MKV for 3-5 minutes at full capacity. During this time, peel the garlic. Get the tomatoes.
  • Fold, lightly tamping, tomatoes into a dry jar, sprinkle with chopped garlic and pour over the resulting juice.
  • Put the jar in the refrigerator. You can eat it after 8-10 hours, when the tomatoes are well marinated.
  • I did not succeed in following the author's instructions on the time the tomato was in the microwave. Maybe the power in my micro is less than that of the author, or maybe our voltage is jumping. In general, I put the tomatoes three times for seven minutes, each time draining the juice. From half a kilo of tomatoes, a 0.5 liter jar of yummy is obtained.

Gaby
Kitsyunya, what an interesting recipe, but don't you fill them with butter? And how long are such tomatoes stored?
May @
Kitzun, and pour juice with what was drained?
Kitzun
Girls, the tomatoes should be poured with the juice that was poured out during the cooking process (there is already oil in it, about 2 tbsp. L.), And on top of the jar I pour another tablespoon of olive oil. Well, that's it, gag. Well, they are eaten very quickly.

Gabby, I will not say about the shelf life, because for a long time they have not yet stood with me - they have not ate. They stood for about a week, 8-10 days. They were feeling well. I think there are enough natural preservatives (salt, oil, juice acid), so that they can stand for a long time. I still plan to make a couple of jars "in reserve", and still nothing. Tomatoes are already leaving, and there is nowhere to shove into the refrigerator - one shelf is completely stuck with jars of this kind of products

Kitzun where is this?

Kitzun where is this?

Tan, well, if you do a little, for example, a pound, then THIS will also be a little, about two tablespoons. If it's a pity to throw it away, then it can be in borscht or in some other tomato sauce. Good luck!
litichka80
how much can you store, and how? The tomato is on the floor of the balcony, it's a pity to rot, but here the beauty is ...
litichka80
found about the timing, thanks, but how are they eaten? I've seen it more than once. What does it look like, where is it used?
Kitzun
litichka80, you can eat them like any other vegetable salad - with meat, just for bread. If it is better to evaporate them and fill them with oil, then, in theory, they should turn out like store-bought jerky. Julia Vysotskaya has many salad recipes and all sorts of differences with them. Only she uses, of course, purchased ones, but they, I think, are still different from home ones.

Place a plate of tomatoes in the microwave for 5 minutes at full power.

How many watts is it at full power?
In my microwave, max 1000W with grill.
Kitzun
Aha, it was also a mystery to me, because this information is not indicated in the original recipe ... I have 800 W, so 5 and 3 minutes were not enough for me (I wrote in the recipe). But! We have a decrease in the voltage in the network, so, perhaps, the time indicated in the recipe would be enough. I put it three times for seven minutes. Try the recipe first for 5 minutes, then soak for 10 minutes in a micron and look at the tomatoes, how they feel. If you have allocated a lot of juice and noticeably decreased, then, as in the recipe, another 3 minutes is good. In general, I think you need to be guided by the tomatoes themselves. At the end, they should be slightly wrinkled, easily detached from the skin, but not too dry, the pulp should be present.
Tatjanka_1
Kitzun I didn't even think that it was such a tasty treat, I tried it for 0.5 kg. tomato, I got a jar of 380 gr. not complete

Sun-dried tomatoes

I will continue to do

Sun-dried tomatoes

Sorry, but I don't understand, that is, I understand
Use a teaspoon or coffee spoon to free the seeds and juice from the seeds.
then
Fold, lightly tamping, tomatoes into a dry jar, sprinkle with chopped garlic and pour over the resulting juice.
But why not put the same juice and pulp with seeds there?
Kitzun
Quote: Tatjanka_1

But why not put the same juice and pulp with seeds in the same place
Well, about the juice, first of all, it's raw. How will he behave in a can of tomatoes? Probably, it will "play". Secondly, the whole point of sun-dried tomatoes is that they are stored with a minimum amount of juice, practically in one oil. I got about 1.5 tbsp from 0.5 kg of tomato. l. exactly juice, which is not so much for a 0.5 liter jar. But all this, of course, is a matter of taste. You can, if desired, while the tomatoes are being cooked, boil the selected seeds with juice and then add to the tomatoes.

Rusya
Kitzun , thank you so much for the recipe! I have not tried dried tomatoes in the original, but what I got yesterday is just your fingers! In the evening, as they pounced on the jar ... I remembered about what needs to be photographed only when there were so many
Sun-dried tomatoes

I will definitely cook more.
celfh
And here I am. Thank you so much for the recipe and for the delicious food !!!!

Rusya

I just thought: And if you cook the same with plums? What do you think?
And then I have plums. Today, if I have time to do it and unsubscribe.
Kitzun
RussiaI think it's a good idea with plums! Disassemble them into slices, sugar and cinnamon, you can use a little cardamom, sprinkle them, and it should turn out great. If you try - will you tell?
Rusya
Kitzun, no, I thought, just not a sweet option. With salt, herbs and garlic.
Kitzun
Oh, so this is generally interesting! Only, probably, for the acid, something will need to be added, so that how the pickled ones turned out? What do you think?
litichka80
Actually, I did. I did 1.5 kilos. The tomatoes were round, I cut them into 8 pieces, since if only into 4, then the seeds remained inside. Perhaps this was my mistake. Firstly, as it turned out to be a long time, I mean to clean. Apparently due to the fact that I cut it into so many pieces. Next, I put it on for five minutes, and then 10 just stood in microvolts, as in the recipe. And when I began to pull it out, they were already something between a tomato and tomato paste. The second time I set it for 2 minutes. I took it out right away, it was puree.
In general, I tried today, they look like canned tomatoes. And they do not look like pictures of girls! HERE.
But I could not help but cut them differently, they were like a fist. It's a shame, everyone has beauty, I have ketchup!
But I still have tomatoes .. True, the same variety. Maybe they are too watery?
Rusya
litichka80 , and you all at once did everything 1.5 kg, or all the same in portions? Because, as if all at once, they just cooked with you. And they need to be laid out in one tier so that the excess moisture evaporates.
Rusya
Actually, I've already made plums. It looks very much even nothing.Honestly, it's even better than the tomatoes I got. I did three sets of 7 minutes each. In the end, they were exactly like jerky. In the meantime, I put everything in a jar, let's wait let them marinate.

I still managed to lick the spoon, I think you're right, there is not enough sourness. But I haven't added anything yet. It will infuse and then I will decide, maybe apple cider vinegar, maybe I will add a little balsamic vinegar.
litichka80
I did it in two different plates, stacking with one layer. But the effect turned out to be boiled, you have chosen the right expression Rus.
Kitzun
litichka80, yes, indeed, perhaps due to the fact that the tomatoes were large, they are also more watery. It is advisable to use tomatoes of the denser, "dry" varieties. Try it with cream - that's it!

Rusechka, I can't wait for your taste impressions!
Rusya
Here are my plums:

Sun-dried tomatoes

What can I tell you. I do not even know. It's not worth comparing with tomatoes, it's a completely different story. For the meat, the very thing. Something like tkemal sauce. In general, it is also interesting.
And as for the sourness, you can not add anything, and it's so delicious. True, they stood very little, if you let them brew more, I think it will be better. By the way, they are so beautifully gelled.
And all the same you will have to make tomatoes. The son demands repetition and more portions.
Rusya
Today I made tomatoes again. Already from a kilogram. Tasty. This time my husband bought not as juicy as they were last time and everything turned out much better. So the tomato variety plays a very important role. I think juicy varieties are not suitable for this recipe.
Sun-dried tomatoes
Kitzun
Rusechka, you're definitely right! Strong, juicy tomatoes are needed here. The cream is perfect. And the jar looks very appetizing!
Gaby
Kitsyun, take the report, they turned out cool tomatoes, very interesting. Thanks and +1!
Sun-dried tomatoes
Elenka
Gabyhow well dried. I just want the same! Share your secret plizzzz!
Gaby
Elena what such a secret, my micra is 850 W and set it 4 times: the first time for 5 minutes (she immediately saw that it was not enough), drained the juice, then 3 times for 7 minutes. I drained the liquid only the first time, otherwise there was nothing to drain. I have to look, and most importantly, my tomatoes are cream, and they are fleshy and not as juicy as round tomatoes are.
Elenka
Gaby, Thank you! I thought that they should be dried until they like it. I want to try the cream too, and the others are no longer on sale - last.
Eh, if only earlier Kitzun posted this recipe!

Eh, if only earlier Kitzun posted this recipe!

Yes Kitzun, just shameless, took and laid out SUCH recipe at the end of the tomato season. (I'm kidding)
Gabyand the color is very beautiful. I also had cream, but not very ripe. At the bazaar, they barely found such.
Oh, what a pity that the tomatoes run out
Ipatiya
I prepared this delicacy from tomatoes, which have lost their presentation, cream. I didn’t think that something could turn out - tomatoes are not the first freshness. I thought that I was not losing anything and decided to practice a little. Received not bad, unexpectedly tasty for me. I think that the main thing in this recipe is to sketch out the eyes and fill your hand, since the maximum power for each microwave is different, and the physical condition of the tomatoes also does not have to happen once at a time.
Rusya
Ipatiya, I really liked the wording:the physical condition of tomatoes... cool.
Ipatiya
Rusya, Thank you!

What? This recipe is also good for substandard tomatoes! For example, I did not buy these on purpose. I got them for free: my friends shared. No experience in canning, so I decided to practice. In addition, the microwave destroys all bacteria. I have already thanked the author of the topic. The recipe is very successful!
Kitzun
Gabi, Ipatiya, girls, it's good that we liked the tomatoes! Thanks for the reports!

Girls, on account of the fact that she had not laid out the recipe before.I myself accidentally stumbled upon it in my accumulated recipes, although I copied it back in the spring and forgot. Leafing through, looking for something to cook this for dinner and came across tomatoes. And so...
Elenka
Kitzun, we're kidding!
Thanks for the recipe, I have my "plus" for it!
Although I haven't made them yet, I bought the spice, you can do it.
Kitzun
Yes, I understand that you are joking! Only I myself am horrified that I might not have remembered the recipe!
IRR
Girls! Yesterday, according to this recipe, I made a pepper - a large Bulgarian meaty - for a sample of 2 pieces - red and yellow. She did not step back a step. It took 5 minutes in a micron. It turned out. One tried it, ate it, and put the second into the bread (already at the very last stage of kneading, so that it would not break into dust), along with a small raw onion. So the cat begged for this bread from mnu, and he, the bastard, only eats cat food. And then selectively. Takeaway bread, no photo. I will do it next time when I repeat the pepper, but already in a full program. Just the season! Howl, Kitzun, thank you and, like a gritsa, take off my hat. A + ischo took it yesterday.

shl. Addition. There was not enough juice, and I didn’t have it. But you can pour from sun-dried tomatoes, if anything

Thank you so much for the recipe and for the delicious food !!!!
AAAAA, was that delicious? No, no and NO! It turns out it was just delicious. I made 2 banks on September 30. They ate one immediately, and yesterday they opened the second can. THIS IS TASTY !!!!!! : nyam: Everything is learned in comparison
Suslya
Girls, and your tomatoes turn out really like dried ones, right? otherwise I did, so they somehow came out cooked for me. Of course, we ate everything, with garlic, it was delicious with gravy, but they were not dried
celfh
Suslya , I have never tasted real sun-dried tomatoes before, so I can't say anything
Irina_hel
I laid them out on a flat glass plate, in one row - I got sun-dried tomatoes, like from the oven.
But I have CF on the refrigerator, so I don't do it anymore, the refrigerator gets very hot. It is necessary in the oven, since it is cold outside.
Kitzun
IRRwhat a great pepper idea! Just wow! We urgently need to try while there is still pepper. Our current tension is now - alas and ah! It happens that what kind of soup you put to warm up in a micra, you get it ..

celfh , oh, how I agree with you! The longer these tomatoes are pickled and infused, the tastier!

Suslya, and you try to hold tomatoes longer in the micro. I have already concluded from my own experience that, despite the fact that the capacity is the same, but the manufacturers are different, the MVPs behave differently. I have an 800 watt stove at home and at work, and the manufacturers are different, but at home it is somehow weaker, or something.
Agata21
stumbled upon a recipe - looking forward to the tomato season!
kirch
I am waiting too. I have long wanted to try, but I was scared by the length of preparation
redleafa
how delicious even hot, and when infused with garlic.
From a kilogram of tomatoes, less than half of a 700-gram can was obtained. I'll buy more tomorrow.
melrin
I carry my thanks too
Gorgeous tomatoes, and most importantly, it's very easy. True, out of my natural laziness, I cut the tomatoes in half (they were very small for me) and dried them right with the seeds. I put the juice draining 3 times for 10 minutes with a break of 10 minutes too. Everything turned out great, delicious
Rusya
I discovered that I had not reported. I did this year too. Tomatoes are long gone. Delight!
Sun-dried tomatoes
vishnevaia
The tomatoes are amazingly delicious !!! I did it on Wednesday - and yesterday (Friday) we tried it ... mmmmm ... mmmmmmm .. mmmmmmmm .. delicious !!!!
Sun-dried tomatoes
The taste is incomparable and very difficult to describe ... - but very exquisite! "Glamorous" as my husband said
An incomplete 800 g jar came out of 1.3 kg of ordinary tomatoes (not cream). I did it in three runs for 7 minutes. For convenience, I put the steamer basket from the multicooker in a large plate and put the tomatoes there - it was easier for me to drain the juice.
The recipe is wonderful !!! I'm taking it to my "piggy bank" !!!! Thank you Kitzun!!
