Finely chop the onion and fry until transparent, add to the rice.
Take canned fish out of the jar without juice and mash with a fork into small pieces, add to rice. Grind the egg with a fork and add to the minced meat.

Add salt and pepper to taste.
Stuff the peppers not very tightly and put in a saucepan, into which pour a little salted water (up to about 1/3 the height of the peppers) and add 3 tbsp. l. rast oil.
Simmer for 30 minutes until the rice is cooked.
Serve warm or cold with fresh tomatoes.

The dish is designed for 5 servings
Cooking time: 1 hour
Cooking program: braising
Note
P.S. I had a little boiled notothenia, added to the minced meat, used herring in my own homemade juice.
In the original recipe, the onion was added raw, but it seemed to me that it would be tastier with fried.

This recipe was taken from the culinary column of the Rostov newspaper 16 years ago and took root in our family. A very light summer meal!
Maybe Mila007, as a native speaker of Portuguese cuisine on our forum, will correct me and complement how this dish is actually prepared in Portugal.

To be honest, I have never met stuffed peppers from the Portuguese ...
But .... the recipe contains canned food in oil .... And this is very Portuguese! They love canned food in oil. Here, her choice is small. The Portuguese love tuna or sardines. This good - heaps!
You have such mouth-watering peppers! I'll have to do this too!
Thanks for the recipe
Elenka
Mila, Thank you!
And for some reason I thought that in Portugal they cook from boiled fish.

And from boiled too ...
And canned food in case you are too lazy to boil, probably Well, or time is running out. They put these canned food in oil (tuna, or sardines) wherever they want. And in soup, and in salad, and in rice. In general, they are good everywhere. I also began to like tuna .... And I love the spread-paste (canned food) from it. And you have canned rice in your pepper, it should be delicious. A complete lunch. I'll take a note of the recipe. I think my husband will like it. And this is the most important thing for me! Healthy, non-calorie and tasty!

Lenochka! Well, thank you for the recipe !!! It is very useful now, in the post, although it will soon be over. I'll try anyway! But I will not add an egg, I think that this is not important.
Elenka
Natusichka, of course, you can and without an egg! If you try, tell me.
kavmins
very original - I have never made peppers with fish - I will certainly try, and in fasting without an egg - it will turn out wonderful !!!
Elenka

Interesting. We love peppers. Moreover, the season. And you need to eat the fish. And so it turns out original.

Nata0901, try it. Delicious and hot and cold as a snack.I love cold peppers with sweet and fleshy tomatoes, just like they are now.
It's a pity the photo was gone ...
