Salted herring 2 pcs.
Carrot 2 pcs. large
Beet 1 PC. average
Potatoes 1 PC. large
Onion 1 PC. average
Tomato paste 3 tbsp. l.
Odorless vegetable oil 2 tbsp. l.

Cooking method

  • Herring caviar with vegetablesPeel and finely grate carrots, beets, potatoes and onions. I used the Philips 1388 electric groove cutter, the finest grater.
Herring caviar with vegetablesPeel the herring, free it from the bones and cut into small pieces.
Herring caviar with vegetablesPlace all vegetables and herring in a saucepan or in a multicooker bowl greased with vegetable oil, add tomato paste and simmer for 25-30 minutes. At the end, add salt (if the herring was slightly salted), pepper and bay leaf.
Herring caviar with vegetablesLet the caviar cool down. Hot can also be consumed, but cooled down is much tastier. Serve on slices of white or brown bread.

gala10, I'm not very fishy, is there a fishy taste ?? Especially after hot cooking ??
I want to make such caviar without fish, it will be delicious for sure !! I'm afraid to do it myself, if it smells, I'll crash
But if someone gave me such a sandwich, as in the picture, I would definitely eat it
gala10
Lerele, during cooking and while hot - yes, there is a smell. But when it cooled down, there was no smell, and the ingredients "got married" and it became very tasty.
Lerele
gala10, so I will do it without fish, it looks delicious, but I can't stand the fishy smell.

I made such caviar. To say that there was a strong smell, no! The taste is reminiscent of canned fish in tomato sauce. Warm delicious, but cold even tastier. Who tried it, no one guessed that there is a herring.
I treated the girls from work, so three bought a herring to cook for themselves. Liked it too.

Checkmark, thanks for the recipe!
I love herring very much. That day and night I would eat it in all forms, if not for the bones. Directly brrr pull them out.
I will definitely try the recipe. I liked it very much for its simplicity, and on the photo it is amazing!
Checkmark, thanks! I will definitely cook it.

Checkmark, and what kind of herlochka is taken? Raw or lightly salted?
gala10
Ritus, salted herring. If lightly salted, then the final product must be salted. And thank you for paying attention to this moment. I made adjustments to the recipe.
Cook for health! I would be glad if you like it.

Girls, did anyone make blende caviar from herring on semolina with tomato paste? I want to do it, but I don't remember exactly the proportions. The recipe was written down on a piece of paper (a colleague at work treated me and everything was copied from her words) I can't find this entry now. The blende caviar turned out to be delicious and all my peasants happily devoured it, spreading it on white bread. And I will definitely cook caviar with vegetables! I liked the recipe very much! Thank you!
gala10
valentine, thanks for the tip.
I have never even heard of caviar with semolina. If you find a recipe, share it. It’s interesting.

Lerele, I would make half a portion in a pressure cooker. Do you have it? Everything in a jar for half a liter, twist, put in water in a pressure cooker for 15 minutes. No smell while cooking.

Galina, and referred the link to the recipe to the "herring" theme?
gala10
Natasha, and where is our herring theme?

Blende caviar:
1 tbsp. odorless vegetable oil
1 tbsp. tomato paste (I use homemade ketchup)
1 tbsp. decoys
Boil until semolina is ready.
Grind 1 fillet of salted herring in a meat grinder or blender and combine with the cooled mass. You can add salt, pepper to taste.
gala10
Lucy0520, thanks for the recipe. I will bear in mind that this option also takes place.
