Ingredients

Rye-wheat bread 1/2 roll
Egg 2-3 pcs
Salt taste
Vegetable oil (for frying) as usual
Butter (for frying) 10 g

Cooking method

  • I do not want to surprise anyone with this recipe, but for some reason I did not find a similar one on the site. Many people make sweet croutons from white bread, but some have not tried salted brown bread in an egg. The option of simply fried black bread is not suitable for everyone, such bread absorbs almost all the oil from the pan and of course becomes too greasy. Dipping bread in an egg helps to avoid this.
  • Stale bread is perfect for croutons. Let's cut it into quarters. Add the egg and beat with a fork.

  • Preheat a frying pan with a little vegetable oil (I also add a piece of butter to it). Average fire. Now you need to act promptly - dip the slices of bread into the egg on both sides and gently spread them on the heated butter. Fry until browned, turn over to the other side. Croutons roast very quickly, do not leave them unattended!
  • Ready-made croutons can be served with garlic or tomato sauce.

Now many of us have toasters, and yesterday's bread will be delicious in them. But these croutons are very dear to me, they were prepared by my grandmother and this is one of the first favorite dishes that I learned to cook myself! I would be glad if this recipe is useful to someone!

Cool recipe)) but I never ate sweets)) and these croutons are a dish of my childhood, my grandmother did that, only added milk to the eggs. Delicious! I still do them quite often now.

Rituslya, I often fry bread, then grease it with chopped garlic, sprinkle with salt and enjoy. I really like soup-borscht. Bread flies away ..... do not catch up.
And pour the omelet mixture on deliciously fried bread.
