Ingredients

Creamy cookies with a smooth surface 1 pack (200 g)
Mascarpone (or similar curd cheese) 250 g
Chocolate Sweet Paste 2-3 st. l. with a slide
Cup of brewed coffee 200 ml
Strong aromatic alcohol (optional) taste
Crushed Nuts / Grated Chocolate / Cocoa Powder / Cookie Chips for decoration

Cooking method

  • Cake Sweet brick from Signora Benedetta
  • In a bowl, mix the mascarpone with the chocolate paste until smooth. I took the simplest Ashanovskaya creamy chocolate paste under the Every Day brand. I think you will find something similar in your stores. Nutella is almost everywhere, but you might want to take something else.
  • Take a flat table knife and use it to brush one cookie on the back (on which it was baked) with a little chocolate cream. Top, also cover it with the back side with other cookies. So that they are stuck together with the "front side" outward. Thus, glue all your cookies in pairs with layers of cream.
  • Pour the coffee into a bowl or any bowl where it will be convenient for you to dip the whole cookie on both sides. If desired and to taste, add strong aromatic alcohol to the coffee: cognac, balsam, liqueur.
  • Prepare a dish under the cake that is long enough to fit the entire cookie pack, with an allowance for the cream. I first, even before I began to spread, put all the cookies in a brick and figured it out.
  • Take our "sweet couple" of cookies with a cream interlayer one at a time, dip them in coffee on all sides, grease one side with cream (using the same flat table knife) and glue each next pair to the previous one, trying to put the cookies in an even bar and a little pressing slightly (keep in mind that at this moment the cookies become fragile from soaking and you must act carefully without applying force). Place cookies on the long side if rectangular.
  • Previously, I marked the amount of cream into about three parts: the first part went for gluing in pairs, the second went for assembling the bar, and the third part of the cream will go for coating. It is more convenient to cover with cream using a silicone spatula. Try to spread the cream in the corners and voids between the cookies and make the surface of your brick more or less even. Even if you didn't do it very well, you can fix everything by decorating the surface with something tasty that is at hand. Cocoa powder, nuts, any biscuit crumbs (from the same cookies) are perfect. Even if only one chocolate candy is lying around in the house, and it will be a wonderful decor: freeze it and rub it as you rub chocolate. Any, with any filling will do: frozen, it will crumble perfectly into beautiful curls. In general, sprinkle your brick on top and, if possible, on the sides, with something tasty and beautiful.
  • Place the cake in the refrigerator. Here I will correct Signora Benedetta a little. She gives us only an hour to soak, but this is negligible! We all know the magic time for such desserts is night. And here I recommend you not to deviate from this rule.
  • After two hours, in principle, you can already eat: the brick is perfectly cut. But! It is still too soft, and you will never be able to hold the slice in your hands like our signora does in the video. But the next day - please! And it will greatly benefit in taste, I assure you. Two hours later, it's just a chocolate cream cookie. And even my cognac seemed to have disappeared somewhere. And the next day it is already a delicious delicacy and an alcoholic note brings its own piquancy.
  • And the most important thing! Do not forget a trick that will allow you to put your guests not only tasty, but also a beautiful piece on the plate: this cake is cut from a corner obliquely! This is the only way the layers of cookies and cream will give a beautiful cut pattern.

The recipe is so similar to our Soviet notions of desserts from cookies and scrap materials. But ... with an Italian touch that mascarpone gives and some elements of the famous Italian design. Still, diagonally slicing gives this simple delicacy some additional charm. I hope that everyone who was interested in this recipe and who asked me to submit it will not be disappointed.

I think this is a good dessert to make with children. Only instead of alcohol in coffee, you can add a couple of drops of some kind of essence for taste and smell. Or without anything at all. And if it is intended for the little ones, then my friend dipped the cookies not in coffee, but in cocoa.
