Cabbage with barley and dried porcini mushrooms

Ingredients

Fresh cabbage 1/2 head of cabbage
Sauerkraut 400 g
Bulb onions 2-3 goals
Dried mushrooms Handful
Pearl barley 1/3 cup
Tomatoes Option
Sweet red pepper Option

Cooking method

  • I cook this hodgepodge with a thick bottom, it can be done in a pan or in a slow cooker. It all depends on your preferences)
  • We brew dried mushrooms with boiling water.
  • We either suppress the barley beforehand, or boil it a little. I had good imported cereals, I added dry.
  • We start with the onion) we need to fry it "to the crust" until the characteristic aroma of fried onions.
  • We wash the sauerkraut, squeeze it and put it on the onion. 2-3 minutes and add chopped fresh cabbage. If carrots in sauerkraut are not enough for you, add a little one.
  • For another 5 minutes we fry everything together and pour our soaked mushrooms together with the "broth", pour out the cereals, salt and pepper to taste.
  • Close with a lid. We are waiting for 20 minutes.
