Ingredients

odorless vegetable oil 100-150 milliliters
drill
sawdust without bark
plastic bottle for 2 liters
dense foil
burner (matches, lighter)
funnel
Scotch
bowl of at least 2 liters
toothpick
small jar with lid
the water is cold 1.9 liters

Cooking method

  • Smoky oilWe take an ordinary 2 liter plastic bottle. The bottle must be clean and free of foreign odors.
  • Smoky oilWe make a hole in the bottom of the bottle in any way possible. My husband drilled me with a drill. You can cut or burn a hole. The hole should be such that you can close it with your finger.
  • Smoky oilCut off several strips of tape and glue the hole. I made a roller out of scotch tape and inserted it into the hole. We need this hole to be properly closed.
  • Smoky oilWe put the empty bottle in an empty bowl.
  • Smoky oilWe insert a funnel into the bottle.
  • Smoky oilPour water so that it does not reach the neck of the bottle by 5-6 centimeters. We take out the funnel.
  • Smoky oilFold thick foil in three to four layers. We wrap the neck of the bottle tightly.
  • Smoky oilWe make several punctures with a toothpick.
  • Smoky oilFrom a strip of foil we make a cup on the neck of the bottle.
  • Smoky oilWe put sawdust in this cup. The sawdust should be very thin, like the shavings from a sharpener when we sharpen a pencil.
  • Smoky oilWe set fire to sawdust. As soon as they light up, quickly remove the plug or make holes if you covered the hole with tape. Everything can be done under a hood or near an open window. I did everything just on the table. There is little smoke and it quickly disappears.
  • Smoky oilWater will begin to flow out, and smoke will fill the vacated space.
  • Smoky oilIf the sawdust is burnt out and the smoke does not go inside, then quickly drain the water remaining in the bottle through the hole. We pinch the hole with our finger so that the smoke does not come out. We glue the hole with prepared tape.
  • Smoky oilRemove all the foil from the neck and pour oil into the bottle. We quickly tighten the cork. Shake for a couple of minutes. We leave to lie down. As you can see, the neck has not melted.
  • Smoky oilAs soon as the smoke in the bottle disappears, open the lid and pour the oil into the jar. We twist. Leave it to "ripen" for about a day.

The recipe for such oil was spied on the Flour forum.
This oil can be used for dressing grilled vegetables, pour over herring or oven-baked potatoes. Grease fish or meat that has been cooked at home in the oven or grill. The oil is obtained precisely "with a smoke". The smell is not as pungent as liquid smoke, and we ourselves see what we are doing and how. Are you ready to experiment? Recommend!
