Ingredients

Chicken thighs 4 things
Potatoes (medium) 2 pcs
Sweet pepper (small) 1 PC
Carrots (medium) 2 pcs
Bow (middle head) 1 PC
Pickled cucumbers Bonduelle 3 pcs
Garlic 3 wedges
Vegetable oil on demand
Salt taste
Four Pepper Blend taste
Spice Porcini Mushrooms and Herbs from Kotanyi taste
Chicken Spice by Kotanyi taste
Smoked paprika from Kotanyi on demand

Cooking method

  • The first time I cooked potatoes in tagine, I always thought that it was not made for this. But life makes adjustments to our understanding of it.
  • Yesterday I had a "sadness". The ordered and much desired slow cooker Russell Hobbs 19790-56 Cook at Home arrived to me defective. To say that I was upset is to say nothing. This model is now very rare in online stores, I could not re-order it. And I was "very serious" about cooking chicken with potatoes and vegetables in a new saucepan. And suddenly such a bummer.
  • Today I decided to cook this dish in tagine. It turned out very well. But they say that in a slow cooker it turns out much better (((
  • Finely chop the onion, grate one carrot and one pickled boletus on a medium grater. Fry lightly in a very small amount of vegetable oil in a frying pan, after adding the spice "Porcini and Herbs", a little salt and a mixture of "Four Peppers". Put the fried vegetables on the bottom of the tagine. This will give us a very tasty and flavorful gravy.
  • Coarsely chop potatoes, salt and pepper, add a little porcini mushrooms and herbs. Place potatoes on a vegetable pad.
  • Remove the skin from the chicken thighs, salt and pepper, rub with the spice "For chicken", lightly grease with vegetable oil. Fry in a pan. Lay the chicken over the potatoes. Sprinkle the chicken with smoked paprika; very little paprika is required.
  • Coarsely chop the bell peppers and carrots. Fry them lightly in a pan, adding a little porcini mushrooms and herbs, salt, pepper and garlic.
  • Place the peppers and carrots on top of the chicken. Cut two pickled cucumbers into slices and place them on top of the vegetables.
  • Close the tagine, put it on the divider. On a fire just above the slowest, bring the contents of the tagine to a boil. Simmer over the lowest heat for 2 hours. Focus on the readiness of the potatoes.

  • The dish turned out to be very aromatic and tasty. I did not add water or broth to the tagine. The chicken gave quite a lot of juice, in which the dish was stewed.

Note

It may well be that in a slow cooker this dish would have turned out significantly better. But I have no way to check this (((

Next time I'll cut the potatoes even larger.
I had a yellow bell pepper, and red is required for beauty.

I have tagine with a capacity of 2 liters.

TATIANA, if the tagine is earthenware, then it’s not a fact that you’ll like it more in slow motion, it also has its own tricks ... sometimes the potatoes turn out * al dente * and at least kill yourself with a broom, but it remains so.
Sometimes vegetables lose their color, especially cabbage, and after so many hours of waiting, you get them gray.
I now have an induction cooker, I miss the clay tagine with lead-free glaze more than the slow one.

The author writes that dishes from her book for a slowcooker can be cooked in a goose pan with a heavy lid, in an oven, on a middle shelf, at 165 ℃.
Please note that 3-3.5 hours in slowcooker = 1 hour in the oven.

(By the way, the book says that the average temperature of the slow ones at HIGH = 150 ℃, and LOW = 95 ℃
Russel Hobbs has high = 90 ℃ -100 ℃, and low = 80 ℃ -90 ℃, so some of the recipes from the book, especially with potatoes, did not work out as gently as I would like.
