Cooking program:

Note

I took the proportions of ingredients from the book * Joy of cooking * by Irma Rombauer, and the description from my old notebook with recipes,
This is my family's favorite cake for a long time, now in a small format.

The original recipe uses cremotartar tartaric acid. I replaced it with lemon, and now I'm using lemon juice concentrate from small bottles. In addition to vanilla essence, or vanilla sugar, you can put a couple of drops of almond essence in the cream.

The filling of fruits and nuts can be drizzled with 1 tbsp. l. dry sherry and leave for 2 hours, then mix with the cream.

The crust can be cut into 3 parts, add 1/2 custard protein cream to the filling and make 3 when and 2 layers of filling. The cream is enough.

sveta-Lana,
Good luck, our family cake, beloved.
Now I will infuse, freeze it and get it for the holidays.
Fruits and nuts can be drizzled with 1 tbsp. l sherry and then mix with the cream, but I don't do that, because I was preparing it for a children's holiday table

julia_bb,
5-6 servings can definitely be cut out. I tried to take a closer picture so that it was better seen, so it turned out that it seems to be large.

A neighbor gave me the magazine, but I don't remember exactly the name of the magazine, or AMERICA, or US AGRICULTURE.

I still have THAT recipe, but it is VERY sweet, the cakes were soaked in syrup and a lot of icing.
Irma Rombauer's recipe is not so sweet, there is no cake impregnation and less icing.
