But you need to rinse until transparent.

brendabaker, Oksana, thanks for the recipe for cooking rice, I can't get rice and cereals in this slow cooker (either overcooked or not cooked) The question is, why should the rice be washed for transparency, its taste will not be lost, is it "Samarkand" red?
brendabaker
olalukoya,
The taste is not lost
This rice is sold very dusty and often with pebbles.
(on the market it is called devzire and is considered one of the best for making pilaf.).
It is necessary to sort and wash as best as possible, but do not rub the grains with your hands, do not injure them, but on a sieve, wash with water.
The clearer the water, the less likely it is that foam will flow through the multicooker valve.

brendabaker, Ah, got it. Mistral bought this rice, it is clean and without pebbles, I don't buy cereals on the market. Also tell me, please, all the cereals should be washed to "clean water" or only rice (any), it's just that almost all the recipes from the site do not turn out tasty for me, so "Your rice" turned out. (I have not cooked at all, now I am learning ) For me, the ratio of liquid and cereal is important, I cannot understand how to regulate it. Is it possible without vegetable oil?
brendabaker
olalukoya,
Any rice is washed on a sieve to clean water.
Buckwheat is washed by rubbing it with hands in a bowl and draining the dirty water.
Then they also dig it out on a sieve.
Vegetable oil is added so that the rice does not stick together and so that it foams less. What can replace it, I cannot say, it suits me ..
I also cook rice MISTRAL KUBAN,
For 1 measuring cup of rice, well washed on a sieve
1 + 1/3 measuring glasses of water + 2h. l. grows up. oils.
Porridge, 15 minutes.

Buckwheat 150 ml kernel, well washed,
300 ml of water 1 h. l. grows. oils
Porridge, 20 minutes,
Or,
1m glass of buckwheat + 1.75m glass of water
MANUAL mode, 90 ℃ ;, time 45-55 minutes
I do this, maybe it will be useful to you

brendabaker, Oksana, thank you very much, I will try (according to the recipes from the booklet - nothing comes out, or a lump, or a mess) Or, for example, instead of vegetable (I don't like it) butter, put butter or ghee. Sorry to bother with stupid questions, for me cooking is a dark forest, and I don't eat a lot of food, so I always ask. otherwise it won't turn out tasty again. I completely followed your recipe with vegetable oil, but I still want it without vegetable oil - and without it it will stick together.

brendabaker, Oksana, I cooked Rubin rice in Fillet (you know this?). It turned out to be slightly sticky. Probably because the program is not touch-sensitive.
What is yours?
brendabaker
olalukoya,
I think you can use butter or ghee.
$ vetLana,
This is not from the program, you need to rinse cleanly, from starch and add oil, a little more than you used to put it. And, if you need rice scattered, then keep it heated. Mine is not sticky, it is rather soft
Rice RUBIN I did not come across, if it is a round grain variety, then try to cook it like Samarkand.

Rice RUBIN I did not come across if it is a round grain variety
No, Ruby is long-grain.
brendabaker
$ vetLana,
I have not cooked a long-grain one yet, if I find a successful algorithm, I will definitely post the recipe.
