Halva made from corn flour

Halva made from corn flour

Ingredients

Fine corn flour 2 glasses
Butter 100 g
Sugar 1 glass
Salt pinch
Water 1 glass
Decorations optional

Cooking method

  • A rare festive table in the Caucasus does without this unpretentious, affordable and very tasty dessert.
  • Pour sifted cornmeal into the butter melted over the fire and stir fry until it acquires a warm, golden-amber color and a pleasant nutty smell. While the flour is fried, dissolve a glass of sugar in a glass of boiling water. At the same time, I always add a pinch of salt - it seems to me that this is how the taste of halva improves. In a bowl with future halva, while continuing to stir the fried flour, gradually pour the syrup and cook until it thickens. Remove from heat, and until the halva is completely cool, form balls from it, which can be left in their natural form, or you can decorate at will - nuts, sesame seeds, coconut flakes and confectionery sprinkles. Cook with pleasure and bon appetit!

It struck you for cornmeal ... One recipe is more beautiful than the other, and all are useful. Thank you dear, I'm taking it to your bookmarks. Hope it comes in handy.

Hit you on cornmeal ...
Gee))). It struck.

I really wanted a prize. I had to win.

Larissa, I liked the recipe, corn flour, as it seems to me, is not enough in our everyday use. At least I spent a kilogram bag of flour for 2 years slowly, finally it was used up Now I bought a small bag of 0.5 kg, I think it's better to buy more often than it costs for a long time. I love halva, I must try to make Larissa, can you put less sugar? Bookmarked
gala10
I'm embarrassed to ask ... What kind of competition?
Rada-dms
dopleta, thanks for the recipes! And congratulations on the wonderful prize! : girl_love: I hope you will write a review on the stove! I looked at her, but did not dare. Now at least an objective review will be from a person who can be recklessly trusted.

Of course, Luda... It even seems to me that it will be tastier with honey, I must try it.
Galya, as usual - culinary.
Olya, Thank you ! I will, of course! If I have time to get it before departure. Not all the same some wallow on the beach!
formochka
in. I'll try this recipe of yours too. maybe tomorrow))).

dopleta, Larissa, thanks for the recipe. While I took it to the bookmarks.
Mandraik Ludmila, in Russia, corn is eaten least of all, and most of all in Mexico and further south.
dopleta
Please please ! But still, be prepared for the fact that it doesn't look like halva, to which we are accustomed. Since this dessert is prepared this way in the Caucasus, I did not change it, but I would add some nut flour to my taste.
Olga VB
Larik, where is more about the competition? Give me a reference, I want to be happy for you!

Here's about nut flour. And if the seeds, traditional for our usual halva, are ground there? Or will it be very bold? Then the oil can be less, probably.
Let's figure out how to stir it up, I'll do it right!

Olenka, no problem! Look, here I am from manna did something similar, and from pea... It was delicious. And you can easily replace flour there, I'm sure.
Olga VB
Thanks, sunshine!
I'll try to experiment

dopleta, Larissa, the light of my eyes !!!!! Today I made this halva. I really liked it, she is so gentle, I will definitely repeat it.I got eleven balls, decorated with white sesame seeds. True, at the end there was some oil rejection. This is normal? I used ghee. Tomorrow there will be something to pamper my granddaughter.
dopleta
Here I have eleven! And rejection, well, quite "some", but it happens, the balls are molded, slightly resisting. If this is annoying, halva can be formed in a layer in a container, and cut into bars before use. Thank you, Svetochka, for unsubscribing about the result!

dopleta, Larisa, the eldest daughter dropped by this morning, tried halva and purred. That's how she liked halva. I find out my granddaughter's assessment of halva only in the evening. And now I'll figure out some gluten-free bread for my granddaughter, she has celiac disease.
BlackHairedGirl
Lorik, if the oil is heated, can it just put less? And the second question, will roasted peanuts be good with this flour?
dopleta
Try, Tanya, put less, I tried to adhere to authenticity. And, in my opinion, any nuts will only decorate the taste!
Wildebeest
[I got an idea to do with barley flour.
dopleta
Come on, tell me later!
Wildebeest
dopleta, now I have not seen flour on sale. Apparently, you will have to wait for a fresh harvest.
olche
thanks for the interesting sweets - it reminded me of Turkish sweets, but the flour turned red for a long time / maybe not very fresh /
but it turned out very tasty: bravo: sent the photo, I don't see it loaded or ???
P.S. I forgot to write that after the syrup I added liquid almond extract - for the smell!

Something for me ... Thank you and the magic word HALVA on the right
In general, I often live on Breads / my bread machine is 3 years old / and recently with VAK. UP. made friends
And here is such a pleasant accident

Something I couldn't sleep today. While mine were sleeping, I took up halva. My daughter came to the kitchen to smell and just attacked halva.
dopleta, Larissa, I think I understood why my oil was rejected during the first preparation. Do not stir for a long time after adding syrup. By the way, today I made halva for the third time.

Lorik, Good afternoon!
And what is the volume of the glass?
but when they write a glass, then I always take a 250ml glass as a basis.

I wanted something sweet, something new, but I have been looking at this recipe for a long time, but there was no cornmeal at hand, but there is chichas
dopleta
Yes, take 250, Valyushka.
Babovka
dopleta, and if sugar is replaced with honey, how much honey is needed?
dopleta
Olesya, I have not tried, but I would have taken the same amount. But it would reduce the amount of water. And there I would look along the way.

Thanks for my interest in corn recipes

Did the day before with my daughter. She hasn't even turned 3 yet, but she loves helping me in the kitchen. Found something for her this time. At first she tried to sprinkle with sprinkles, but they did not stick well, then I put down the saucer, sprinkled the sprinkles and set it to roll in. My daughter liked it. The balls turned out to be delicious. Thank you, Larissa!
dopleta
Oh, what a smart girl! And mommy too! Thank you !

dopleta, Larissa, yesterday I again made this halva. I took a piece of halva, dipped it in coconut flakes, I really liked it, then I took and mixed the chips into halva. I felt so nice, so tasty mmmm ...
Thanks again!!!!!!
S * lena
Girls, but the lean version is interesting? I want to try replacing butter with corn ... have you tried it?
dopleta
Sveta, great idea, I'll do it too! Lena, no, I haven't tried it.
Wildebeest
S * lena,
Try and tell us. I think it is theoretically possible, but the taste will change somewhat, but not for the worse.
S * lena
OK! Hope to have fun tomorrow! I will definitely tell you, and maybe I will!
Thank you girls!

Halva made from corn flour
Not as beautiful as yours, of course, but delicious for sure!
I tried half of it, I took 50 * 50 corn flour with peanut flour and my pies had a pronounced nutty taste. But if you still roll them in ground walnut sin, it would be super!
I don't know why, but I added more lemon juice and vanillin (I love it!).
Regarding the oil change .... I have not tried the original, but I was also happy with the replacement for corn! They were molded well.
But I realized it seems why the creamy one is more suitable, when the pies freeze, they will harden and will keep their shape better.
But I also liked the lean version, I just wanted to try it, but I grabbed about six. The child also ate with pleasure.
Thank you for the recipe !!

creamy is more suitable, as the cake hardens, it will harden and hold its shape better
So my first thought was this, but when you promised to do it, I decided to wait for the result. Thank you, Lena, you have a cool halva!
Wildebeest
S * lena, Good job. She said and did. Now we know what can be done this way and this one.
dopleta, Larisa, when will you mix in the coconut flakes? I'd like to know how it is to you.
dopleta
Sveta, I am now far from home and will not be back soon. But I have no doubt that I will like it.
M @ rtochka
Made a halva today
Put the whole grain corn flour. Apparently, she takes more water into herself. Since after pouring the syrup, the mass turned out to be lumps! It was not molded very well, the oil did not separate.
I liked the result! Very sweet, though. You have to buy ordinary flour, make with it. And put less sugar.
Larissa, Thank you!
