Irgi and white currant compote

Ingredients

For two 3-liter cans
irga 1.5 l.
white currant (red) 1.5 l.
sugar 3 tbsp.
water how much will it take

Cooking method

  • Not everyone loves irga in compotes, and it is not always tasty in them, but in this combination - we really liked it.
  • We sort out the berries, the currants can not be separated from the branches. We wash the jars thoroughly with soda, rinse and pour berries in them in equal proportions. Boil water about 2.5 liters per jar, pour the berries in jars with boiling water for 10 minutes, then pour the water back into the pan, add sugar and bring to a boil, immediately pour boiling syrup into jars and roll them up. We wrap it in a blanket until it cools completely.
  • The compote is stored well, it is drunk quickly, bon appetit!

The dish is designed for

2 b. 3 liters each.

Innushka, Irgi and white currant compote berries are
Innushka
V-tina, a beautiful berry, it's a pity that this does not grow with us, most likely it is forest vegetation, but we have steppe and wilderness)))
V-tina
Inna, she has healthy bushes growing, in our area, every house is planted, and my husband says, in his village they call her karinka, and my mother generally called it barberry, and for a long time I thought that it was barberry.
Irgata
Korinka - small (4-5 mm) seedless sun-dried grapes, irgu is also called that in some areas

delicious compote of yergi + currants (for acid)

also irga + lemon, irga + orange = extraordinary delicious
V-tina
Irsha, Ira, I haven't tried it with lemon and orange - thanks
Irgata
I don’t put so many berries in the jar = 500 ml of all berries in a 3 liter jar + half a glass of sugar
because I often close at least 5 cans (sometimes 20-25 cans per evening), put the berries in the cans + sugar, shake them up so that the juice stands out and pour boiling water, I roll it up under a fur coat until morning

easier than yours easier

and jam from one irgi is a song

we also have a lot of irgi growing - both in gardens and in forests

V-tina, I just didn’t know: pardon: where to add the irga deliciously, thank you ... I’ll run then to collect

Irina, Irsha, I specially put more, I do not like to roll up water .. and so - the husband and son eat berries with pleasure, and we dilute the compote with boiled water each to our liking.

I have seaming at a positive temperature, I somehow beware of doing one fill in unsterilized jars

my seams are at above-zero temperature
yes, I also have everything in the apartment, but for a year everything is spinning = everything is normal

all the more so - there is only one filling, but the cans stand under a fur coat for several hours, sterilization is still the same and there is more than one can - they warm each other
I remove the blanket in the morning - the jars are still hot and I never put them upside down, everything heats up perfectly overnight, the pouring jars are just clean, the berries are still not sterile
try it - it's easier this way

and I make drinking compotes as a specialist, sea cans
kisa1185
I put 1 liter of berries and 0.5 liters of granulated sugar on a 3-liter jar. the very thing!

I have nowhere to store so many of them, and we love everything in different ways for sweetness

kisa1185, Irga is a very sweet berry, is it worth pouring so much sugar into it
kisa1185
I mean different berries.I don’t do it from one irgi, I also add currants and honeysuckle if left.
V-tina
kisa1185, I understand this is a matter of taste, of course
