Ingredients

mashed potatoes 150 g
milk 80 ml
water 80 ml
butter or margarine 70 g
sugar 50 g
salt 1 tsp
premium wheat flour 450 g
fresh yeast 25 g (or 7 g dry)
egg for greasing the surface of buns 1 PC.

Cooking method

  • I prepared mashed potatoes (with milk and butter) in advance (for lunch), set aside 150 g and rubbed them through a sieve so that there were no lumps.
  • I mixed warmed milk, water, sugar and soft butter. I added mashed potatoes to the mixture and beat everything with a whisk until smooth. I diluted yeast in this mixture, added 150 g of flour and beat again until smooth.
  • Gradually added the rest of the flour and kneaded into a smooth, non-sticky dough.
  • Such dough is kneaded very quickly and there is no need to drive the bread maker once again, so I kneaded it with my hands.
  • I put the dough in a bowl, covered it with foil and put it in the oven with the light on for 1.5 hours. The dough has doubled.
  • The dough that came up was divided into 16 pieces (about 56 g each), covered with foil and left on the table for 10 minutes.
  • Then I rounded each piece and rolled it into a ball.
  • Leave for proofing for 40 minutes, greased with a beaten egg and baked in an oven preheated to 200 grams for 20 minutes.

Note

The buns are delicious and incredibly soft. Potatoes are not felt at all in them, they are very well stored and do not stale for a very long time. Moderately sweet, they go well with broth or soup.
Both me and my husband liked them so much that for the second week in a row I bake only them. And still not tired
