Indian spiced chickpeas (lean) "Aloo Chole" (for Zigmund & Shtain MC-DS42IH)

Chickpea with spices in Indian style (lean) Aloo Chole (for Zigmund & Shtain MC-DS42IH)

Ingredients

Chickpeas (chickpeas) 150 gr. dry
Potatoes 2 pcs. middle
Tea leaves 1 tbsp. l.
Vegetable oil 5 tbsp. l.
Zira (cumin) seeds 1 tsp
Dried red chili pepper 1 PC.
Garlic 2 cloves
Fresh ginger 2 cm root
Ground coriander 1 tsp
Ground red chili 1/4 tsp
Salt taste
Mixture 1 tsp
Tomatoes 2 pcs. middle

Cooking method

  • 1) Soak the chickpeas for 6 hours (or overnight) in plenty of water. Change the water several times if possible.
  • 2) Boil the chickpeas in a multicooker in the "Stew" mode for 50 minutes. from 2 st. water.
  • 3) Wrap tea leaves in gauze and put them in a slow cooker with chickpeas. Add salt and cook for another 30 minutes.
  • 4) Take out the tea leaves and discard, drain the broth from the chickpeas - it will be useful to us!
  • 4) Boil potatoes for 30 minutes. in salted water. Cool, peel and cut into large pieces. Heat 2 tbsp. l. butter and fry the potato pieces in it until golden brown.
  • 5) In another deep skillet, heat 3 tbsp. l. oils. Put cumin seeds, dried peppers, finely grated garlic and ginger, coriander powder, red chili powder, add chickpea broth (4 tablespoons) and simmer for a couple of minutes.
  • 6) Add chickpeas, potatoes, garam-masala, the remaining broth to the spices, mix, add salt to taste. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
  • 7) In the oil remaining from frying the potatoes, fry the tomatoes cut into large wedges. Add them to the chickpeas.
  • Serve hot and in small portions - VERY hearty!
