Beef stew with beets (for the Zigmund & Shtain MC-DS42IH multicooker-bread machine)

Ingredients

Beef (tenderloin) 1 kg.
Vegetable oil 2 tbsp. l.
Onion 1 head
Dry red wine 250 ml.
Red wine vinegar 4 tbsp. l.
Juniper 8 berries
Allspice 8 peas
Brown sugar 2 tsp
Beet 8 pcs (small and young)
Sour cream 2 tbsp. l.
Dry mustard 2 tsp
Horseradish 2 tsp
Salt 1 tsp
Flour 1 tsp
Ground black pepper taste
Greens for decoration

Cooking method

  • 1) Cut the beef into 3 cm cubes. Cut the onion into small cubes.
  • 2) In a skillet in oil, fry the onions until soft and transfer to the multicooker bowl. Next, in a frying pan, fry the meat on all sides until golden brown and also transfer it to the multicooker bowl.
  • 3) Pound the juniper and pepper in a mortar. Peel and cut the beets into wedges.
  • 4) Add wine, vinegar, crushed berries, sugar, beets, salt, pepper to the meat. Stir and simmer for at least 3 hours.
  • 5) Combine sour cream, flour, mustard and horseradish. Add to meat 10 minutes before cooking.
  • 6) Garnish with herbs when serving.

Note

Serve with your favorite side dish.
You can also fry in a slow cooker, but then you will need to remove the onion so that it does not burn out.
