Polenta (hominy)

Polenta (hominy)

Ingredients

water 1- l
finely ground corn grits or sold specifically as Polenta 250g

Cooking method

  • Poleeenta, a very beautiful name, a very tasty healthy dish, it is prepared sooo simply and quickly.
  • Salt the water, if the flight is not supposed to be dessert, if dessert, then I add more sugar.
  • Bring to a boil and add, constantly stirring the cereal, preferably the finest grind, cook until thickened, constantly stirring and adjusting the heating of the stove so that the polenta does not stick, stick and burn, it is better to take thick-walled dishes.
  • Then we spread the resulting thick porridge in any shape convenient for you, after cooling, we cut circles into squares or whatever you like.
  • You can make balls stuffed with polenta.
  • If I make a sweet version with marshmallows and chocolate, then I cut it out in a circle, for meat squares it is possible, although the same circle will work for meat cutlets. It can be poured into a split mold and made like a cake in layers, but it is better to do this when there are many eaters at a time, since the dish is hearty and you won't eat much.
  • There are different ways to assemble a dish from a flight.
  • I often do this: a layer of polenta, a meat layer, polenta again, cheese on top, bake and serve with sauce.
  • It takes longer to write than to do.
  • Polenta keeps well in the refrigerator.
  • Polenta (hominy)
  • Polenta (hominy)
  • Polenta (hominy)

Time for preparing:

1-1.5 hours

Note

It's delicious, very satisfying.
Can be served with different fillings.
Recommend.

The presentation is simply gorgeous!
And to the feast and to the world! Guests can easily serve it with meat, basil, sun-dried tomatoes and baked cheese.
The recipe is wonderful! I'll take it to your bookmarks. In the meantime, I myself will look for a thick-walled saucepan, because the mamalyga sticks to me and is simply welded on.

Tanyul, I also respect polenta very much and there are even recipes.

Polenta (hominy) I got a little PR here. It's nothing? I'll take it away if that

Well, then you need coarse flour, I think it will be too small, although you can try it, I love that the grains would be felt.

In a saucepan, I cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring constantly, in a pressure cooker with the lid open, probably the same way, I never cooked under the lid.

Well, it’s so yummy, but I’m sitting here and don’t know. And if you wrap fried mushrooms in polenta?

And what kind of lean filling can you think of for sweet polenta?

And, the most important question: is it possible to make polenta in Kesh (Kenwood kitchen machine), stirring can also be turned on there. Maybe someone already did it? Please write what nozzle to use?
Tanyulya
I make polenta with marshmallows, very tasty, you can pour it over with chocolate.
Natusichka
Yes, I can imagine how delicious it is. But let's try this after the post. In the meantime, I'll do it with a lean filling.
