Pea porridge (mashed potatoes) in the Oursson MP5002 multicooker

Ingredients

peas 2 mst
broth (water) 5 mst
salt taste

Cooking method

  • Girls, I welcome everyone! What a blessing I was presented with Oursson MP5002. Now, so inexperienced, I cook with your help and experiment myself. I didn't find pea porridge and decided to post what I got. I added a little vegetable oil to the saucepan, washed peas (crushed) to clear water, poured broth (salted water plus any seasonings). Before that, I had read a lot of fears about how peas "run away" and stain everything around, so I smeared butter on the edge of the saucepan. This is applicable for milk porridge, but still reinsured. I cooked in the KASH mode for 30 minutes. In the end, I did not leave it on the heating, I immediately opened it and added butter. It turned out mmmmm ..... it turned out SOMETHING !!! Sooooo delicious! The porridge is boiled straight until smooth. Definitely, it won't work on the stove, at least in half an hour. Although you can have a little less water - a little thin, but maybe for the better: it does not thicken much when it cools.

Time for preparing:

30 minutes

Cooking program:

porridge

Note

Peas are a vegetable and legume annual herb up to 1 m high with a creeping stem, paired-pinnate leaves with large stipules and antennae and white flowers.

Homeland - North Africa. Cultivated on all continents. Pea grains and unripe grains - green peas (contains up to 25% protein) are used for food. In addition to protein, peas contain up to 52% starch, 4-10% sugar, 2.7% fat, vitamins E, B, P, choline; in green peas - up to 25 mg% vitamin C, a lot of sugar, up to 20 mg% folic acid. When ripe, the amount of starch increases sharply, the accumulation of which worsens the taste and texture of the product.

Sugar and semi-sugar varieties of peas are eaten fresh; pea grains and green peas are obtained from shelling varieties (in these varieties it is tender, tasty and easily husked from beans). Soups and main courses, salads (from green peas), garnishes for meat dishes are prepared from peas, it is canned with meat. In canned green peas, vitamin C is relatively well preserved (in 100 g of the product - 10 mg, and in the same mass of food concentrate “Soup-puree from green peas” —20-22 mg). Peas are cooked for a long time, so before cooking they are soaked for a while in cold water (it swells, which makes cooking easier and faster).

The most widespread cultivars are hulling peas with cerebral (wrinkled) grains. Early varieties (ripen in 57-68 days after sowing): Vegetable-76, Excellent-240. Mid-season varieties (ripen in 53-75 days): Winner G-33; Freedom-10. Late-ripening varieties (ripen in 65-74 days): Borets-2040, July-308. A very well-known variety of canning value Chudo Kelvedon (ripens in 57-64 days).

Thank you girls for your responsiveness and warm welcome! I am so glad that I found this forum (they recommended it to me), because I feel like a child with a new toy with a slow cooker - scary, but terribly interesting. And such incredible joy when everything turns out in such a way that it exceeds all possible expectations!

Natali, I just cooked pea porridge on the Soup mode. It turned out deliciously delicious! Cooked before in a slow cooker Lakuchin 47, but it was all not what I wanted to get. Here I am just delighted with the taste of such porridge. On the mode, Kasha was afraid to cook, because some mealy peas had to be washed for a long time until light water. Thank you for the recipe! What else did you cook in 5002? Share your experience!

Little darlings, who cooked pea porridge, is it still more optimal to cook in soup or porridge? Doesn't she run away? And how long does it take to cook not soaked peas?
Lionsea
I really have Mystery, you first need to fry the carrots and onions in a pan, then in a saucepan, add the peas with water (1: 3), and for 25 minutes the Soup mode ... it's so yummy))) mmmmm)))) (and why I, you bastard, didn’t buy a pressure cooker before, the unit just hurt!) Bon appetit everyone!

I cook in porridge for 25 minutes. Pre-soaked for a couple of hours and rinsed. Water 2 by 2.

Lionsea, and why fry onions with carrots in a pan, if it can be done in a cartoon?
Bast1nda
Something went wrong with me. Half peas. Soaked for 12 hours. I washed it. Cooked for 5 hours, plus heating 12. Peas, as they were, remained so. I threw it out. How is it? What could this be from?
