Pea porridge with dried apricots

Ingredients

Split peas 200 g
Dried apricots 200 g
Sugar 80 g
Water 1.5 l

Cooking method

  • Rinse peas, add water, leave overnight.
  • Drain the water in the morning, rinse the peas, add fresh water and boil until tender (about 40-50 minutes). It seemed to me that there was a lot of water, I drained a little too much.
  • Rinse dried apricots, cut into small pieces.
  • Add dried apricots, sugar to the finished peas and boil for 5 minutes.
  • Cover and leave for 5-10 minutes to infuse.
  • This porridge is one of the discoveries of this post. The recipe interested in an unusual combination. I don’t like peas at all, but then I dared to cook half a portion. As a result, late at night with my husband, pushing, licked the whole plate. It cannot even be called porridge - a dessert. Delicious!!!!

The dish is designed for

2 servings

Wow discovery !!!!!!!! : swoon: What, just go and cook urgently !?
Kara
And I immediately remembered childhood. We were given this in kindergarten, without dried apricots, of course. Little one, thanks for reminding me, now I know for sure that tomorrow for breakfast

PS: what do you think, how long does it take to cook in the Shteba? On "Porridge" or on "Vegetables"?

Olya, by all means. The husband said, well, what kind of post is it with such deliciousness ???

now I know for sure what tomorrow is for breakfast
Ir, Wait, I’ll draw up one more recipe, then you’ll decide what for breakfast. Cooked just in Shteba on Kasha for 30 minutes.
Loksa
Thank you! Peas with dried apricots, go wallowing, you need to try, why will I live like this - have I never eaten pea porridge with dried apricots?

Oksana, I even went to buy peas for the same reasons. I don’t keep it at home, I don’t cook it.

I don't keep it at home, I don't cook it.
And I often cook pea puree with carrots and onions, but I can't even imagine the taste with dried apricots
Omela
Maroussia, delicious taste!

Peas with dried apricots? An unusual combination. Although what just does not happen. Here's a pea sausage for breakfast with pleasure.

Ir, Wait, I’ll draw up one more recipe, then you’ll decide what for breakfast.

Well, come on, otherwise I'll go soak the peas
Omela
Marina, yes, for me, too, an unusual combination, but dried apricots here clog the "pea" flavor, which I personally do not like. I heard about pea sausage, but never saw it. What recipe are you cooking?
Omela

Lan, go soak it, then make another one.
Kara
The last question, do not shout current Dried apricots can be replaced with large white raisins? What do you think?

Quote: Omela

Cooked just in Shteba on Kasha for 30 minutes.
And I cook chipped peas soaked for a couple of hours in Shtebe in soup for 0.7 10 minutes, everything boils well, straight in mashed potatoes.
Omela
Maroussia, I cooked the peas for the first time, asked my mother how much to cook on the stove and stayed half the time.

Can I replace dried apricots with large white raisins?
Try it if there are no dried apricots. But I liked it so much with dried apricots that I will buy it just for the sake of this recipe.
Maroussia
Ksyusha, well, since you liked the porridge so much, then you will still cook, try to set the time less. And I'll try yours, sweet dessert
marina-mm
Omela, I make pea sausage from pea flour. Flour with water 1: 2 is mixed and brewed in the microwave. Cool, paint over with beet juice, spices and garlic, oil, in a blender for uniformity and shape. When there was no pea flour, I tried it from chickpeas, it turned out to be a paste, in chickpeas there are less gelling ones.
Later on HP I met a recipe from NataliARH https://Mcooker-enn.tomathouse.com/in...on=com_smf&topic=394131.0 - everything is very detailed.
Omela
Yeah, Marus, I'll try your option.

Marina, thanks, I'll go and see. I'm making hummus right now. The girls taught me that instead of sesame, I put seeds, it turns out more budgetary and no less tasty.
Loksa
I really respect peas, with fried onions on cracklings or pies with peas, sprinkled with garlic! you used to go to the bazaar, and it smells like these pies, and they will move! But never ate peas, how sweet? I would have put it today, but I have no dried apricots, so I'll buy dried apricots, then I'll cook it tomorrow!
Omela
Oksana, well, they teased me with peas ... now I also want to try different options !!
nakapustina
And I only ate peas in soup, even such a combination does not fit in my head, but completely trusting your taste, Ksyusha, I will try to cook it in the near future. Ksyusha, it won't work with pea flour, I have a bag for a long time, but I don't know where to attach it.
Omela
Natasha, probably, should succeed ... just cook less water, too. I'm talking. that he is still an expert on peas. Better put the pea sausage with it, as Marina writes.
Gala
Well, ooooooo interesting combination! I'll try.
Marusya
No, girls, it’s not that flour will turn out, not at all porridge. This will be some kind of paste
Natasha, it's better to let this bag lie still, there will be a use for it, and for this porridge-dessert you will have to buy split peas
Omela
+ Gala +, try it, you won't regret it.

Oh, see how, Natasha, we don't need a paste.
Loksa
Omela, Ksyusha, bake lean pies with peas and pour them - garlic, salt, oil, water. I wanted to put peas in your cakes instead of potatoes, only the first time I always do it as in the recipe! And if peas with dried apricots sound good, then the filling will also be good, so you had to remember: wall: these pies
Omela
Well, I don’t know ... and the recipe is hde ??

Natalia, You can cook vegetables in batter from pea flour. Flour with water until the consistency of sour cream, add seasonings, salt. Vegetables, peppers, cabbage, what else is there? dip in batter and fry in oil. Mine really like it.
By the way, this is an Indian dish, I don't remember the name right away, you have to look ...

Oh, see how, Natasha, we don't need a paste.

Persuaded, tomorrow I will buy peas.
Marina, thanks for the hint, I'll try to make a batter somehow.
Marusya
nakapustina, Natasha, or maybe cook from pea flour nutata with onions... Yes, Ksyusha? Or not?
nakapustina
Yes, I also tried on this recipe with my pea flour
marina-mm
Marusya,
Quote: Maroussia
maybe make nutata with onions from pea flour
I'm going to try it, I think it will work.
Omela
Marina, share, pzhl, how it goes.
marina-mm
Omela, to me on you, please! I promise to tell you.

and into shape.
And in what form? Doesn't it matter? Maybe in a juice box? And what taste, similar to cooled pea porridge or completely different?
marina-mm
iris. ka, Irina, I cut it out of a plastic bottle. Grease with vegetable oil. When it solidifies, it shakes out well. And the taste is sausage because of the garlic and spices. I gave a link to a very detailed NataliARH recipe about ersatz sausage. I only add less water because of the microwave.
celfh
Ksyusha, a very interesting recipe must be tried Although brains do not understand sweet pea porridge I will definitely cook and report))
Ninelle
Omela, but from the fact that you do not need to soak peas, it turns out ?!
Omela
Quote: marina-mm
to me for you, please!
similarly!

celfh, Tatiana, try it, surprise your brains!

Ninelle, most importantly, boil boiled porridge so that the peas turn into mashed potatoes. Maybe your peas just need less time.
Tumanchik
Thank you so much! I love pea porridge. I'll try a new version!
Omela
Ira, I will be glad if you like it!
Ninelle
Omela, thanks, as it turned out, I have only round orange peas in my bins, such a real Soviet
But I'll buy a normal one, and I'll definitely try it!
Omela
Ninelle, from it too, I think you can .. just cook for a long time.
toffee
I confirm. If the peas are whole, then you need to cook them longer and, most likely, walk with a crush at the end.I didn't really like the porridge from this. It is problematic to crush all the peas and the porridge turned out to be not homogeneous, but this ... with tubercles.
Ninelle
iris. ka, thanks, but I will cook these NZ peas for handicrafts from the normal, tomorrow I will buy and as soon as we finish the wheat porridge, potatoes with mushrooms and lentil stew, I will do it.

There is no recipe, but maybe there is, here you have everything. The yeast dough is not rich, the filling is pea puree (thick), it is molded as (for an hour I will see what you call this dish and write it.) FUH, I found: Adjarian khachapuri, after baking the pies are poured with a "sauce" of crushed garlic with salt and water! - it is always not enough! Very often they are prepared for commemoration. I remember my childhood:: cray: weddings, funerals, funerals, weddings, pea pies, prunes with cream, Czechs always put sweets on the table right away, we (children) loved to go to them (parents dragged them everywhere). It was a retreat!
I read: I made a mess, literally the next day. I liked it, very tasty! Girls-cook, an unexpected combination, but delicious of course if you are a fan of legumes!
Ksyu, why did you soak it for so long? Does it reduce the effect? if so, it makes sense in prolonged soaking! I was so fired up by your porridge, I jumped into the store, bought the peas, it was in the evening, I needed the porridge DIRECTLY, poured 200 grams of peas with boiling water! Two hours later, it turned into edible and very tasty (reminded of the taste of young peas, overripe) - ate 1 muti-glass - sorry! the rest poured 700 grams of water and put it in Shteba for 20 minutes, high pressure. I waited when the pressure subsided, drained the water and added dried apricots (sweet and sour). The dried apricots were light and the photo was not very bright! Next time the picture is better (I don't eat sweets now)Pea porridge with dried apricotsEven my porridge is very pale - in fact, it was brighter. I took a picture and did not see how the photo came out!
Omela
I read it like a dective !!!

Oksan, so I had the same impression !!!

Quote: Loksa
Why did you soak it for so long? This reduces the effect?
They say yes !!!

With peas, I still have cutlets planned, maybe I'll get to the pies, but I'm completely lazy, I don't want anything.
Loksa
I had no effect. Although when you sit on raw vegetables ...... I'll tell you the same effect is present! Make cutlets, I'll wait, but for now I'm baking Zakhara's cake from beans!
Omela

I've sprouted peas like that once .. I tried it and well, it's nafik ... it's completely indecent with him.
