Bagels of St. Martin from the Church of the Heart of Christ

Ingredients

Cottage cheese 300 g
Sugar 150 g
Vanilla sugar 2 sachets
Milk 12 Art. l.
Vegetable oil 12 Art. l.
Flour 600 g
Baking powder 2 sachets
Salt
Raisins or marzipan mass for filling

Cooking method

  • I found this recipe on the website of the Catholic parish of the heart of Christ Johanstat (a suburb of Dresden).
  • Made half of the recipe for a sample.
  • - Mix cottage cheese, milk, vegetable oil, sugar and vanilla sugar.
  • - Mix the flour with baking powder and gradually add to the mixture by spoon.
  • - Knead the dough, arrange it in a lump, let stand in the cold for 30 minutes. Roll into a circle, cut into triangles, stuff with raisins, pre-soaked in rum or cognac. Make bagels. Brush them with a mixture of milk and yolk.

  • - Bake at 190 degrees for 15 minutes.
  • The bagels turned out to be somewhat "Spartan" and simple to taste. But coupled with a good filling, they were quickly eaten.
  • The dough was very flaky.
  • On the church website there are two more recipes for St. Martina, I will definitely try them.

Note

I barely collected the dough, I just baked some of the dough in lumps - they were eaten first.

To be honest, I also thought about it. It looks like sweet pastries, but no frills! Well done, thanks for writing about this !!!! Not everyone is fooled by gluttony!
