Cooking method

  • I was racking my brains to put it in a pie and pancakes for my young student. Yes, so that there was not a budget and a lot. I was leafing through an old cookbook and came across a sago filling. And it has been on my shelf for a long time. It was scary to take it. But there the main proportions were for cereals. She's so hard to make. If you do not calculate the liquid correctly, immediately sit in a thick jelly. To begin with, I poured some water into the cartoon and put a pressure of 3 on the chicken thigh on Varka. During this time, the onion with garlic fried beautifully. I boiled the eggs. Now she took up the rump. First of all, the water and salt were brought to a boil in a saucepan. Water is boiling. The cereal is in a colander and washed well with a spoon under running cold water and immediately into boiling water. Cooked for exactly 20 minutes. Some of the grains became transparent. The whites also looked through. The chicken was cooked and the pressure dropped. She took out the thigh and separated the meat. Cut it with fat and skin. I added it to the onion and fried it together. Pissed and brought spices to taste. She threw the groats into a colander and rinsed well under running cold water Filling for pies (pancakes) from sago groats... Sent to the meat with an onion Filling for pies (pancakes) from sago groats... She also crumbled eggs there. It turned out to be a very tasty filling. Try it. By the way, you don't need to put meat at all. And more onions and more cereals. Nobody understood what it was !!!!

Note

Filling for pies (pancakes) from sago groats
So, many are now reproducing what is SAGO?
Sago groats are obtained from the starch of the sago palm trunk. They mainly grow in countries such as: India, New Guinea, Malaysia and the islands of Southeast Asia. In these distant places, people eat sago every day. The age of the sago palm is short-lived; immediately after it gives up its fruits to a person, the plant dries up and dies. This is why sago palms are felled before the flowering period, when the young trunks are still full of healthy starch. The heartwoods of the palm trees are washed and then wiped with a special sieve, and the hot sheet of metal placed underneath helps the starch turn into cereals, which can only be dried properly.
The Slavs first tasted this unusual cereal about a century ago. Of course, this sago was not made from palm starch, but from corn or potato. But this is understandable, because palm trees do not grow in our area. The grains of such artificial sago triple during heat treatment. But the inhabitants of Europe, as fans of everything natural, prefer to buy real sago flour, from which they themselves make cereals. Sago has a related product - tapioca, made from the roots of the cassava bush that grows in the tropics.
Natural sago is very different from artificial, but not in appearance, but in its qualities. And the quality in this case is determined by the complexity in the cooking process.
Sago has a very weak taste of its own, but this cereal perfectly absorbs the taste and aroma of any product. Therefore, you can cook a great variety of dishes from it. Soups, cereals, puddings, syrups - all this can be prepared with the addition of sago. It can be put in pies or served as a side dish, of course, first seasoned with herbs and spices. Sweets, pastries are also sometimes not complete without this cereal. One of the main culinary qualities of sago is its ability to make any dish surprisingly thick; sago is a natural thickener.
Composition and useful properties
We are talking about natural sago, which is richer in composition than its substitutes. Sago groats contain proteins, fats, simple carbohydrates, dietary fiber, starch and sugar. It contains vitamins such as E, PP, choline, slightly to a lesser extent H, vitamins of group B, A. The mineral composition of sago is also diverse, it includes titanium, phosphorus, boron, calcium, molybdenum, vanadium, potassium, iron, iodine, silicon, zirconium, magnesium, copper, strontium, zinc, etc. There are very few calories in sago and it is very well absorbed. Among other advantages of this product, one can also note the absence of gluten (gluten) and complex proteins, which the cereals widespread in Europe cannot boast of. The harm of these two substances is their high allergy, they can also cause celiac disease or inflammation of the small intestine. For these reasons, sago is successfully used in diets and is a substitute for many other cereals for various diseases.
