Beef shank with barley and vegetables in Oursson MP5005 multicooker

Ingredients

Boneless beef shank about 0.8 kg
Pearl barley 200 g
Salt, spices
Carrot 1 large
Bulb onions 1 large
Zucchini 200 g
Root celery 200 g
Garlic 3 teeth
Shank broth 600 ml

Cooking method

  • I love to cook shanks. I bake it in a bag for baking with spices and carcass. It looks not very attractive. All in the hymen. But in the age of multicooker, this is such a trifle. Due to this, due to this viscosity, it turns out to be tender and tasty. Perfect for stewing and roasting.
  • Rinse the shank. Cut into large pieces. Fill with water so that it covers a little. Mode Simmering pressure 3 time 3 hours. I bet for the night. To cool it down in MV. I pour pearl barley without rinsing with water, too, overnight. I do vegetables in the morning. I crumble and cut everything into cubes. I fry in a MV bowl on the Baking mode. I wash the barley well several times. I drain the water from it. When the color of the frying suits me, I add pearl barley there. Salt, pepper and fry a little more. Then I add the meat, pour in the shank broth (600 ml). Porridge mode, pressure 3 default time 40 minutes. I never relieve the pressure. The dish should ripen.

Note

My husband is a soldier. They (servicemen) hate barley since their studies. But she loves this one. It is neither dry nor watery. Delicious!Beef shank with barley and vegetables in Oursson MP5005 multicooker

Well, yes, it’s just a long time to cook my beloved pearl barley on the stove! ... But in general, for lack of extra space, I try to buy only the most necessary units ...

Thank you Lyudochka. Yes, I have all the usual homemade recipes "for every day."
Gingerbread man, roll it up!

Everybody is afraid of the shank, because she looks too painful in the hymen and veins. But in fact, they spread so beautifully, and the meat is very tender. And very budgetary

Sash, how can it be without multi? I consider it the second after the washing machine. then a microwave oven, a vacuum cleaner, an iron, and so on ... How are you?

And I get by with a stove and an oven. And so everything is forced - HP, yogurt maker, pancake maker, microwave oven, etc. Without them, too, could do

Ksyushenka, it all depends on the cereal and your multi. try 1/2 for a start. if not cooked, then bring it to readiness on baking with butter and a little water

Irishik, I have already cooked and ate!
I did 1: 3, it turned out delicious, but I pre-poured the pearl barley with boiling water, for about 2 hours ...

I'll cook it tomorrow. No celery. I do not like its smell, and children are unlikely to eat with it. Something needs to be replaced? Does it give extra liquid or just smell?

I prepared it. From the changes: instead of root celery, I used mushrooms in the same amount.
Pros of the dish:
1. The meat is incredibly soft (it is not in vain that the beef is used).
2. Soaked pearl barley overnight. Cooked in porridge for five.
3. You can "disguise" zucchini, which the male part of the family is not very fond of. But it's useful!
Disadvantages:
1. Porridge cannot be called crumbly. Well, that's understandable. No wonder, after all, jellied meat is cooked from small pieces ... A somewhat gelatinous consistency ...
But! Despite the lack of friability, my husband VERY liked the porridge. Even the eldest son (he is not particularly an eater with us) ate a plate.
Thanks to the author for the recipe.
For yourself, for the future - cut the champignons into large pieces. I cut very finely, like the zucchini. Therefore, their taste was lost in the common dish.

By the way, celery can be replaced with eggplants, it will turn out very tasty!
