vedmacck, and where do you wash the dishes? If in the dishwasher, then the dough also needs to be washed off first, no? Well, I don't mind, cook, it's easier for me to put pasta in a slow cooker and do something than a thread. You will say that they taste different, yes, there is a difference, but pasta is also very good for me, so I will not make my life so difficult.
vedmacck
Midnight lady, did not understand where and where to wash the dough first?
Mine and in the dishwasher (in the country), and without (at home). Who can argue that pasta is the simplest dish. There are also dumplings, ready-made soups and a deep-frozen second. Cooking yourself or buying semi-finished products is everyone's free choice. We compare the cooking times of a completely homemade meal. By the way, many spaghetti twirls.
As for the taste, pasta and spetzle are very different. And every day, in any case, you will not eat either one or the other.
Lerele
Midnight lady, the dough is perfectly rinsed under running water, which takes about a minute. Then the dishwasher. Hands also do not wash for a long time. Strange claims, after any preparation we wash the dishes.
Yes, pasta is faster, but Spetzle is a completely different dish, these are dumplings, just a slightly different shape.
Of course, everyone chooses for himself what to cook, but shpetzli is delicious, and cooking is not difficult at all.

Midnight lady, different opinions are needed and important!
it seems to me that you made a thick dough, but the holes in the steamer are small? (then it is difficult to squeeze out the liquid too) .... I had a similar mood when I rubbed the thick dough through a regular 4-sided grater (although the holes are decent there). ... for this you need a spatula, and for thinner it is wonderful through a slotted spoon (there are more holes) and strength. crush

about unsaltedness, so you can salt ready-made ones, salt is not stones, it will disperse with stirring

but I cannot decide on such a seemingly lazy method, consciousness does not allow, but someone loves laboriousness ... first, he will start the dough, make a paste, dry it, then only prepare it ..... I have not yet used this method matured, and the spetzle are comfortable for me ...

no offense to you and this is in some way not addressed to you, it just inspired "opened pasta, quit boiling and ready" more and more people are leaving cooking .... this time! personal time! but we also cook for ourselves, not for people in the eatery for the purpose of profit ... it is always easier to buy ready-made ... let's start small:
- cereal cereals such as oatmeal, which without cooking .... conveniently, threw in and ready .... as a friend of an employee of such a plant said "if you knew how to make them"
- sausages, sausages, and other cold cuts, well, this is not discussed at all, everyone knows how harmful and what is difficult to do ourselves (although it is not so)
- minced meat ... I never took it, I can't imagine how you can ...
- ready-made semi-finished products - cutlets / pancakes / dumplings and other products requiring only heat treatment, the opinion is similar to minced meat

I generally have the principles of "the fewer links in the purchased product, the better" and "do it yourself everything you can"

if a woman is a housewife, then everything is clear there is time, although it is always not enough))) but a woman who works for 5 days from 8-17 does an excellent job with such duties of preparing quality food for the family, for her own, for her children, health nation! LAZY is the engine of progress, but not in this sense, you do not need to buy everything ready-made, made by someone .... use kitchens to help yourself. appliances, but cook everything yourself to the maximum! otherwise, homemade food, in its full sense, will be a bedtime story for your great-great-great-grandchildren!

I was really surprised at your opinion. Cooking them is as easy as shelling pears, especially if you have a spetzle mold. I always make them for a portion, part in broth, it turns out a delicious soup, and I fry the other part with onions, cheese, etc. This dish cannot be compared with pasta. And life is not complicated by the preparation of new dishes, but on the contrary it becomes more interesting and tasty. And as for the dishes I did not understand at all, the dishes must always be cleaned before putting them in the dishwasher. The recipe is very successful.

So almost any production can be said ... unfortunately.

It's nice that you, especially as the author of the topic, understand this.

The dough, I think, was thick. Having done half of it, I realized that something had to be done and added milk to the remaining dough. It got better.
And I have a steamer like here in the photo https://Mcooker-enn.tomathouse.com/index.php@option=com_smf&topic=24193.0

The holes in it are exactly the same as in a four-sided grater and it is much more convenient to put the dough on top than to stick it inside the grater, you must agree. I think that in a special attachment for a spezle, like in Admin on the link above, there are no more holes than in such a steamer.

Well, we each have some kind of framework, conditions that we want to be fulfilled. It is important for me that the taste and healthiness of the dish are combined with ease and simplicity of preparation. If it is skewed in some direction, this is already a minus.

no offense to you and this is in some way not addressed to you, it just inspired "opened pasta, quit boiling and ready" more and more people are leaving cooking .... this time! personal time! but we also cook for ourselves, not for people in the eatery for the purpose of profit ... it is always easier to buy ready-made ... let's start small:

Of all the above, I only use cereals, but I try to find it not fast cooking. So I fully support the performance.

These spetzles are delicious after all. : nyam: I wasn’t going to grind through the holes again and the idea came to me to cook according to this recipe, but like dumplings. I read it on the internet and decided to do it with teaspoons. The result is such a meditative process: I dip spoons in cold water, collect dough, manipulate spoons and in boiling water. In form, of course, it was not chic, until I filled my hand, well, nothing, with experience and the form will be better. Cooked longer than traditional worms. There are even some holes inside
Spaetzle (Spetzle). Cooking basics.

I ate with cheese, as usual, and my husband made milk soup with goat's milk. I add seasoning for chicken to the dough and the dumplings taste like dumplings without meat.

Thanks for the recipe!

You are well done for not giving up. They are really tasty, and with additives different tastes are obtained. I bought specials for them. the shape is very easy to make. You put it on a saucepan and grind it. I posted her photo in this thread. Very comfortably.

I found myself a spatler! My husband bought a grater, I see: there are more holes than in my four-sided and in the steamer of the airfryer, which I used for the first time for the spetzle. I think, okay, I'll try to do it with it. It turned out super fast and easy!
Empirically derived the following proportions for the test:
Egg 3 pcs (~ 150g)
Milk 240g
Second grade flour 150g
First grade flour 150g
Salt 1 tsp with a slide (+ more salt in water for cooking 0.5 tsp somewhere)
I also add 1/3 tsp. seasonings for chicken.
I knead, stand a little while the water boils, for 5 minutes (spreading the dough on a grater four times) I rubbed the dough.

Here's a grater

Midnight lady, here !!!!! Spetzle is both tasty and fast, and unbeatable, well, it's really easy to do if there is a device
OlgaYUB
:) just did! (y) the main thing is fast! take in a notebook! but I still have, I have not used everything, can I freeze it?
OlgaYUB
now nuno's speeder! and which one is better to choose? will you tell me?
NataliARH
Midnight lady, well, everything worked out! the main thing is the size of the holes if there is no spatula and the dough is not thick ...

Lerele, Ira, this is not straightforward at all, this has not happened in Russia! Long live friendship of peoples

OlgaYUB, Olya, it's good that everything is fine! and liked it and arranged for cooking! you can freeze, just not necessary, everything will stratify and will not return to the same mass, as I think ... it is better to dilute and make a pancake, or add flour and make a cake on soda ... at the choice of ShDelok this is not to me, I am satisfied with the means at hand, and in the subject the girls gave links to the joint venture and who uses what ...

Hello.
On page 270 of the Kitchen Trivia topic, julifera gives a photo with a Spetzle grater:
https://Mcooker-enn.tomathouse.com/in...n=com_smf&topic=1429.5380

With the grater, as they say, everything is clear, but the fact that the dumplings do not fall into the water, but into the basket-double boiler, was interesting.

There were some questions.
Tastier, or is there no difference? Does the cooking time increase significantly? Do the dumplings stick together more?

In a word, is it worth "bothering"?
Spaetzle (Spetzle). Cooking basics.

I ask, if not difficult, to respond to those members of the forum who cooked with steam.
vedmacck
GlaleI think this basket with holes, completely submerged in water. So as not to catch it with a slotted spoon, but pull everything out at once.
Glale
vedmacck-Tatiana, thanks for your feedback.

Perhaps you `re right.
Unfortunately, in this case, only a very low casserole, like a stewpan, is good. Otherwise, it will take a lot of time to boil the water.
Irgata
Larissa, and in a very low saucepan there will be no place for the spetslya to cook, they should fall to the bottom, start to cook and rise - some kind of height is needed: girl-yes: yes, it’s fine and the slotted spoon gets everything.
Glale
Irsha-Irina, agree with you.
Besides, I have no compatible with each other a steam basket and a saucepan.
For this reason, I would like to know exactly about the steam method.

And they boil in boiling water for only 4 minutes .... they do not stick together .... they probably stick together for a couple .. you can't put much, the sieve area is not very large after all.

As I expected. The thing is, I am a longtime fan of steaming.
Hence, I well know that space is very important for products in a double boiler.

But the photo really reassured, embarrassed.

Irina, I agree with you. In any book on steaming, they write that there is no point in steaming pasta - there is no advantage either in cooking time, or in taste, or in juiciness.

The same is written in my instructions for an electric steamer.
Here, however, still not pasta. Rather, they are comparable to dumplings with a delicate filling.

However, if positive reviews do not appear, I will not "steam" the spetzle - my own experience suggests that at the bottom of the basket they will instantly "grab" into a big sticky lump. Something like this

And I recently in Austria, in Vienna did not buy a grater for a spezle, I regretted money - 17 euros, now I regret it. It was like a lid on a saucepan with a spatula.

It is a pity that such a recipe was lost. For a long time no one unsubscribed. I didn’t even know what kind of animal such a spetzle was. And I came across a link from Tumanchik in one of the topics. Attracted the name, read it. And today I made my wish come true. What can I say .... Yes, forgive me the adherents of traditional egg noodles, nafig nafig suffer to roll-cut-dry! Everything is so elementary and simple! I did it through a multi steamer. I made the dough watery - no problems with manufacturing (pushing through the mesh of a double boiler) did not arise. The result is the most delicate dumplings, noodles! Washed, warmed in butter, sprinkled with grated cheese. And before that I cooked chicken breasts in pumpkin-apple-onion-tomato sauce with all kinds of seasonings. It's just a bomb! I'm barely breathing now, otherwise I'll burst! Decent people so much do not eatdo not eat. And the eyes again and stretch! My son came from training, he finished such a portion! (I probably will have to cook with basins!) And fled further along the friends. It's good that I didn't buy pasta today - they are no longer needed. But you will have to buy much more flour.
NataliARH, Natasha, I have a huge thank you for such a holiday for the belly (and for the hands!)!
Oh, I forgot to insert a picture. Sorry, but the fotik flatly refused to take pictures - the battery died, so only on the phone. The quality is not so hot.
