Citizens, is the shower cabin a device? For example, I have a very urgent question about the need to buy it, but I was completely confused! Asking the clumsy-all bath. Stores dazzle, especially the Internet! There are many places, I can put any. but which one ?! Low pallet. high, with a whirlpool bath instead of a pallet. Do you need a "Turkish bath" function? It seems cool, but upon studying it turned out that this is just a built-in steam generator .. will I use it to overpay now? What is important in these booths and what are empty spillikins? Which manufacturer should you prefer? A lot of China as always. but is it worth it to be cheap?
Help, for God's sake, because there are no familiar users, and the purchase is not cheap and I don't want to spit then out of frustration ...
There are also models with Finnish saunas (such a two-section is a cabin-half-shower, half-wooden) Has anyone used it?

I'll sit and listen. A similar problem. My husband seems to have read all sorts of different things, but it is the users who are needed.

I have an ordinary cabin (strictly speaking, not even a cabin, since there is no "roof" like steam ones) Kolo. Initially, they didn’t think about the fancy because of the price. But I don’t think we would use the bells and whistles. We have a massage function in our souls, for 5 years no one has ever. Mom did the rnemont a couple of years later, due to limited funds, she installed China at all. And nothing, the main thing here is to install it correctly so that the doors slide apart without effort and there are no cracks when closing. My IMHO, the main thing is that there is glass (by no means plastic). And experience of use has shown that smooth is easier to clean than grooved and looks neater. The pallet both my mother and I have acrylic, no problem.
By the way, more about the bells and whistles, a friend has a sauna at home. Used 1-2 times a year
Massage panels in showers are also generating healthy skepticism.
High / low pallet, IMHO a matter of personal convenience and taste. Very tall, like a sitz bath, not easy to enter / exit. We got caught on vacation somehow. If there is a good slope of the drain pipe (that is, a quick drain and the water does not stand in the pan during washing), then it can be quite low.
Lika
I was also actively interested in this issue, and since in the summer two of my friends were doing repairs, I can give their opinion. To the above k.alena, about glass, pallets and build quality, I will add. The cab must have a roof and have forced ventilation. This is necessary if someone from the family likes to stand under the shower longer. Some of their friends made a "tropical rain", they like it.
k.alena
The cab must have a roof and have forced ventilation. This is necessary if someone from the family likes to stand in the shower longer.
I have solved this problem by forced ventilation in the entire bathroom and the fan itself is very close to the cabin. Therefore, the steam is not particularly annoying. And the kids love to splash.
Rita
We already have a second shower cabin. From my experience, I can say that a shower stall with a back wall is better, because mold does not form in it. Mold is the scourge of showers. It forms in places where the joints are sealed with silicone - even if it is sanitary, it does not matter, mold will still appear. The first cabin was without a roof, the second with a roof. The roofed cab is much warmer and has separate lighting. The height of the pallet does not matter. But it is convenient when there is a seat in the cockpit.
All the bells and whistles in the form of massages are fiction if the cabin is not equipped with a special powerful motor, but then it is quite noisy. If there is no motor, then the usual water pressure is not enough for massage.
We also have a sauna, but freestanding. We love it and use it quite often, especially in the cold season. After her, the feeling of being born again. But the combination of a cabin with a bath raises doubts for me.
alyona
To the above about shower cabins: do not get fooled on the radio - no one to them
does not use massage shower too.
Steam room - for everybody, you can charge with all sorts of useful broths, oils, come in handy.
The main thing is good (smooth) glass or plastic - you cannot save on this, otherwise limescale will settle with you forever, and all kinds of expensive cleaning products will not help.
Pallet of medium height, corrugated, made of acrylic is very good. Easy to clean, warm. Porcelain is not bad, but colder.
Sitting is a must.
A reliable sliding mechanism is important.

Citizens, is the shower stall a device? For example, I have a very urgent question about the need to buy it, but I was completely confused!
Tortyzhka, haven't communicated for a long time. To begin with, if it is possible to build brick walls (do you have a house ?!), then it is better to do it to the desired size, since everything that is on sale is Chinese or Hong Kong (which is the same thing) is lousy junk. The walls are not erected to the ceiling (if you decide, I will write the height), any doors and pallets are sold. It is better to take Czech firms Ravak (go to the site and choose). They also have very comfortable seating. Inside you can lay out with tiles. That's exactly what I've done. My daughter has a double shower cabin with a high side, with all the personal belongings (telephone, radio, lighting, color music, several types of hydromassage) - they don't use anything, except for the upper fungus (albeit cool). If your water is hard, the nozzles will clog up and fail in no time. If the high iron content is even worse. You can also play nicely with the first option.
Panevg1943
Cake, it is better to have a separate sauna, and not with a ready-made shower. We have in home bath. Every week we take a steam bath, some in a sauna, and some an amateur with a broom. The main thing is that you don't need to run anywhere after the steam room. He sat down in the room at the bathhouse, and at the samovar. Whisper !!! Well, did I dissuade you or not?

My sister uses the radio all the time, and so do I when I visit them. Turning on radio relaxation is a sacred thing. Nice light music.
As for the steam room, my husband and I also really wanted the effect of a Turkish wet bath. But! Then they abandoned this idea. We have a huge (if not overwhelming) number of women with female diseases. Both gynecological and breasts because of which the bath is contraindicated in general. Absolutely. I forgot about her for 4 years already. And my husband, too, for the company, although he loves the steam room very much and went to it every week for 20 years.

Panevg1943

We also have a shower cabin in the form of a capital structure with a wall made of bricks and a pallet (we still cannot put the door, we hung it up with a curtain)

The fact is that both we and our daughter have radios in the bathrooms that react to the presence of a person. You enter, turn on, exit after 20 seconds, turn off (German). Very comfortably. You can always hear if someone is in the bathroom. Therefore, the daughter does not use the radio built into the cockpit.
lina
We have a Chinese shower cubicle (and it is not cheap at all, we would not have pulled an Italian one). assembly - ok ... a few additional self-tapping screws - pull the roof to the frame, in three stages siliconeilized all joints (2.5 cans of silicone). That is, they were siliconized, dried, diligently poured water, wiped where it runs and siliconized again. Acrylic pallet (height - almost to my knee, but I'm shallow), acrylic roof, dark glass walls and doors. I really like acrylic - it is not slippery, pleasant to the feet (and when there is no water and splashing around in basins, you remember a cold cast-iron bath with a shiver), it is easy to clean. Glass walls and doors are well cleaned. Along the contour of the pallet, along the silicone, either fungus or mold likes to appear - by its homestom, and again it is clean. The depth and size of the pallet allows, if necessary, to draw water and wash.

On the bells and whistles. They didn't even look at the saunas - I wouldn't fit. In principle, they took what was the right size and the dark stele looked.
Forced ventilation - we use it constantly. We turn on ventilation in the cabin and ventilation in the bathroom, then even if you splash for a long time, you breathe normally in the cabin, and condensation does not flow down the walls in the bathroom - even the mirror does not fog up. Helps at least a little when cleaning the cab.
Radio / CD is not a bad toy. Only if you wash in the shower and listen to the radio at the same time - the same two risers will listen. The CD was not connected for the same reason. therefore, the radio is quiet when the shower is not turned on all the time, or when I clean the bathroom.
Phone - did not connect
Lighting - on the panel and on the roof, LED. Sooooo like it. For relaxation, I even turn off the light in the bathroom, leaving only this blue one.
Rain shower - great! Only in a bedroom is next to the bathroom, and the remains of water like to drip after a while - to wake up from the fact that water is dripping ...
The hydromassage panel (for the back, probably) - there is no motor, the pressure is weak, and in general the arrangement of the nozzles is strange. not used.
A watering can with several modes is a good thing. Already changed, with our water. The mount is standard, we quietly bought a suitable one in the store.
there is a button with a bell - the siren turns on. This is probably if it gets bad ...
The seat is great! The main thing is not to fall asleep - you sit comfortably, warmly, well, water is pouring ... there is a handrail that you can hold on to when you sit down and get up.
Mirror, small shelf. In short, I love my cab, and I agree to change - except perhaps for an Italian one!
Rita
lina,
I think that Italian showers are made ... in China, like everything else, so you can safely consider your cabin Italian, especially since the Italian quality does not differ from the Chinese for the better.
lina
Rita, for sure there are Chinese for sale at the price of Italian ones (maybe I'm confusing - not Italian, but German or someone else's. It was already long ago). Where we then looked at the cabins - the simplest, without anything, without a roof, 2 times more expensive than ours - the quality there was completely different. That is, we have already seen from the outset that our Chinese will have to be "refined". for example, now we have a German watering can - heaven and earth, compared to the "native" from the cabin. Even limescale deposits less on it. And it won't peel off after a relatively aggressive cleaning (I've already seen this ...). As well as faucets - it is easier to pay once for an expensive high-quality faucet (and then regularly disassemble and clean it) than buying a new one once a year.

I don’t know, I don’t have one. My sister has a built-in radio in the cockpit. And built-in bathroom radios are very popular in Germany, for example. Not a radio as a single device. You only see the built-in (usually in the ceiling) speakers. And on the wall there is a built-in volume control and a channel selection display.

Thank you all for your good advice! I examined the Ravakov blinds in the shopping center "Your House", they "without anything" cost 15-20 thousand. This is very cool! After all, you still need a shower, a mixer, perhaps a "shower column" - so it seems to be called ... And even the bottom to do, tiling the walls ... In short, it will come out at the same price of 30 thousand. so what to fool? I'll stick the finished cabin in the corner and that's it! However, do not listen to my arguments, I just really like the cabins, and the rest of the words are in excuse
Panevg1943 , I'll go to your blog to ask a question about construction that worries me very much. Remembering your professional advice on installing a warm floor, I only hope for you, because in my head again there is a complete confusion ...

Cake, the height of the cabin pallet strongly depends on WHO will have to be washed. Those friends of mine who have / are planning small children chose cubicles with a "bath" so that they could bathe their child. Those who like to sit in the foam themselves chose "double" cabins so that they could lie down in a "tub" -pallet.And from one seller in a specialized department, I heard that a lady bought a shower cabin from them because it was difficult to drag a large dog living in a house into a regular bath after each walk. That is, she specially took a cabin with a low pallet so that the dog could enter it herself and so that she could wash her paws with a shower on a flexible hose.
Also, think about whether you need to periodically wash outside a typewriter or soak large items (blankets, sleeping bags, etc.). If everything fits into the typewriter or if you take it to the dry cleaner, you can get by with a low pallet. If not, it is better to be higher, so that a couple of times a year you can use it as a container for soaking.
Enjoy your bathing!

I don't have a cabin, but I have a shower panel with hydromassage. At first they played, but now he is not needed for nothing. But this is in our family, and I will not say about others. A top watering can and a flexible hose are required. All other bells and whistles (eg radio) for amateurs.

As an alternative to baths, showers are becoming more and more popular today. There are several reasons for this. Firstly, compared to a bath, a shower saves water about five times. Secondly, taking a shower takes much less time than taking a bath. Thirdly, the shower stall saves space - that is, it takes up much less space in the room than a bath. Well, and besides, the shower is considered to be more hygienic in operation, since soap and dirt is washed off with running water. Thus, the advantages of this equipment are quite obvious.
I myself recently made a shower room, a shower room and accessories for it, and I ordered faucets in the Internet store. If you want, you can take a look, there plumbing is presented in the widest range: the eyes run up from the abundance of products, the plumbing is very high quality and at normal prices. I was very pleased with this 🔗 plumbing store.

Place a deep pallet
Pingvinus
Melanyushka, just buy a shower stall with a deep tray.

Just do not take a very high one (such as a minivan), because it is inconvenient to get inside, you have to control the span of your legs and try not to touch the doors with your knee.

Best of all, when the height of the pallet is 30-50 cm and the booth itself, which would be wider and higher, then you do not have to beat your elbows against the walls and it will be convenient to take a shower and wash things (this is from personal experience).
Melanyushka
Thanks for the quick answers, I myself was thinking about a deep tray, but then do you have to wash on your knees in front of the tray or bent very low? Pingvinus, how did you adjust? From the floor to the edge of the pallet, how high is yours?
Pingvinus
Melanyushka, I very rarely wash with my hands, so this is not a problem. If small things are in the sink, and large ones once a year you can go down. Basically, you need to bend down into the bathroom in almost the same way.
The height from the floor to the edge of the pallet is about 40 cm, but this is up to the edge, and I cannot measure to the bottom, since it is covered with a decorative panel.
Melanyushka
Pingvinus, thanks. I also thought that it is not so often that something non-standard has to be washed, I shouldn't have bothered so much about doing this, everything can be solved. Now I will choose a shower stall more in detail.

My colleague took her old mother from a private house without amenities to her apartment. The apartment was renovated and the bathtub was replaced with a shower. It was convenient to wash in the shower, but the mother who arrived was not. The old woman could not wash herself. And in order to wash the grandmother, she had to be put on a stool and somehow squeezed herself into a very narrow cabin to wash the grandmother. She regretted very much that she had chosen a narrow cabin that only one person could get into. The grandmother is no longer alive, my colleague has made repairs and again put a bath instead of a shower. Her opinion: "A shower is good when there is a bathtub. And if you choose between a bathtub and a shower in favor of a shower, then the shower stall must be spacious, as far as the size of your bathroom allows you to. And yet, the shower tray should allow you put the tubaret there. " On my own behalf, I want to add that 12 years ago, after an extensive abdominal operation, I was weak and helpless. like this old woman, my husband himself washed me for about a month, until I got stronger. So take into account the fact that someone from your family may need outside help during illness, after surgery, and most importantly, our parents and loved ones are getting old, in our turn we will grow old ... Let's think about it in advance.

Right! After my mother's illnesses, I also have a strong conviction that the most difficult thing in caring for a weak person is hygiene procedures. The patient has no strength to get into the bathtub, and I have no strength to lift and put an adult heavy person in the bathtub. Therefore, we abandoned standard cabins in the new apartment, and made a shower compartment from a tile with a drain in the floor.
Creamy
lega , your shower is more difficult to make than putting in a fancy shower stall. But on the other hand, your shower is practically eternal, convenient to use, does not lose its appearance, is easy to maintain cleanliness and is also much cheaper than a cabin. The best and wise decision.
izumka
We have about the same booth (only without a roof), size 1.25 by 0.75. We are very happy, and when my old mother was alive, it was more convenient for her to wash in the booth than before in the bathroom (there was a big problem getting in and out of the bathroom). Our pallet is of medium depth - you can enter normally, and you can draw water. You can safely buy children, and at first I myself lay down slightly diagonally. But now there is not even such a desire - it's better under the shower! The booth is much warmer than the bathroom! And what a water saving!

And if instead of a curtain, you put a glass door designed for saunas? then there will be heat and water will be saved, and only one glass wall-door will be washed. Calculate this option for money and compare it with the cost of the shower cabin and also correlate it with its service life.

but how is the floor drain technically solved?
The entire floor area of the future cabin rises to the podium, under which drain pipes are laid. The floor is waterproofed and tiled. It is also advisable to make a small side, so that when the water is collected (the drain is clogged or simply the pressure is large and does not have time to drain), then it does not pour onto the bathroom floor. Doors are installed along the perimeter (there are now a large selection of different configurations and sizes).

Correctly against. All water will be on the floor or washed in a corner. Glass railing is much more convenient.

Naturally, this is solved at the construction stage by raising the floor level and making a low side. A ladder is built into the floor. I will not say that I have a downright ideal solution, but in our conditions (meaning the total area of the room) it is the only one that suits in all respects. The guest bathroom is small, initially there was only a sink and a toilet, but I really wanted to fit a shower there and keep the rest. And so the idea of just such a device was born.

While I was about to answer k.alena I've already stated everything correctly ...
The only difference from my version is that I have a heavy vinyl curtain hanging, it is nailed to the side with water from the shower and nothing flows out. If it were structurally possible in my case to put doors, it would probably be even better, but my room is too small for this. As the saying goes: "For lack of a stamp, we write in simple ...." And even though there is a bath in the house, everyone prefers to wash in the shower, and the bath is used extremely rarely - if suddenly someone has a quirk to lie in foam ... more often it is used only for washing large items ...
