Greek beans in slow cooker Kenwood CP 707

Ingredients

dry beans 3 glasses
onion 1 kg
salt 1 tbsp. the spoon
black and red pepper 1 teaspoon
water or broth on demand

Cooking method

  • 1. Soak beans for 8-12 hours in cold water and rinse.
  • In the original recipe, white beans, and I used a mixture of three. You can take fine black and white, or white dry and add frozen green beans, which are rarely found on the market, already during cooking. It turns out very "smart".

Note

This is an adapted recipe from the book Bon Appetit by Gunther Linde and Heinz Knobloch, published in the Soviet Union.

Before I got the slow cooker, I made these beans in portioned pots in the oven.

In this case, the taste is deeper, or what? Long languor on the verge of boiling, like in a stove, makes itself felt. And you can do without pre-boiling the beans.

The beans are soft, but don't fall apart. The onions become sweet and form a rich onion sauce with the broth.

We eat part of it right away, and I put the rest in sterile jars and put it in the refrigerator for later, to serve it later as a cold snack.

Bon Appetit!

Tasty: nyam: I love beans in any form, and fried onions too - why should I cook this nyamka
Omela
And I will cook, thanks, although I will eat alone.)))

irysikf,
Thank you. I hope you will like it.

Omela,
Okay, why alone? Does the family eat beans?

although there will be one.)))
And I, unfortunately, cannot eat it alone, otherwise I will have a fight here!
Nicely it happened with multi-colored beans, lovely!

Elena Tim,
Green beans are even cooler! But I, such a hat, did not take a photo that time. And then I didn't see something on sale.
Elena Tim
Ah ... sorry, moa, green beans are, by any chance, mash?
mur_myau
Elena Tim,
No. These are unripe green beans without valves (pods). They are sold freshly frozen, as well as green peas. Tasty...

PS I haven't tried it yet. You gave me an idea! You can mix green mung bean and red japanese (mung). They are the same size.
Elena Tim
The main thing is to cook the same way. In general, yes, it will be beautiful, of course!
Antonovka
mur_myau,
Lena, I wonder what is the temperature in LOW mode? I would do it in SV Shteba - there the temperature can be regulated
mur_myau
Antonovka,
Somewhere in the topic about slow cookers, it was about 90C. In fact, 85-60C, sometimes higher and lower, languishes.

KvashninaEA,
Just now I noticed the comment.

Glad you liked! I love beans in any form !!!
My onions were dark at the very bottom of the pot, where the juice from the beans dripped. And from the middle and from above the color hardly changes. There are no problems at all with white beans, if you want an aesthetic result, try with them.
Pity
But this is "on the verge of boiling" - is it a lope?

How much should I put in the staff - 92, 96?

Lenochka, thanks!

I wonder if it's easy to cook on the stove, how long will it take? (considering that the beans will be boiled in advance).
mur_myau
Pity,
It's my pleasure!

LovingMother,
I think in a thick-walled dish on a weak fire for two hours. So that everything is saturated with tastes and smells.
Irene
What water (broth) do you pour, hot or cold?
Ilmirushka
mur_myau, Elenawhat a beautiful beans!
And nothing more, everything as I love
I filled it with water, I'm waiting
