UKRAINIAN FOOD. Ukrainian cuisine is widely known all over the world. Ukrainian borsch, traditional flour products (dumplings, dumplings, dumplings, etc.), dishes from meat, vegetable and dairy products, various drinks from fruits and honey do not lose their popularity among other nations.

A wide range of components is typical for Ukrainian dishes. For example, the famous Ukrainian borscht has more than 20 of them. A distinctive feature of Ukrainian cuisine is a significant number of variants of the same dish. So, only dumplings are wheat and buckwheat, potato and cottage cheese, from choux pastry and bread crumbs, with lard, ham, apples, etc. Processing of products also has its own characteristics. Most often, combined methods of heat treatment are used (frying, boiling, stewing, baking).

Various cereals are widespread in Ukraine: millet, buckwheat, pumpkin. Egg dishes are popular - for example, scrambled eggs with bacon, sausage. Fish dishes occupy a significant place in the diet of Ukrainians: crucian carp baked in sour cream, carp stewed with onions or in sour cream, pike perch baked with mushrooms, etc. The preparation of a number of Ukrainian dishes was traditionally timed to coincide with various holidays and rituals. For example, pancakes made of wheat and buckwheat flour and dumplings were necessarily prepared for Shrovetide. Pies with meat, liver and other fillings were baked for the solemn holidays. The ceremonial dish was dried fruit compote - uzvar. For the preparation of sweet dishes, apples, plums, pears, apricots, cherries, currants, etc. were widely used. Many of these traditions are still alive today.
